These guys are great. Customer service is excellent, all instructors are professionals, kind, and always willing to help. Special thanks to Gary. He is a fantastic instructor, very patient and always full of good tips. He’s all about safety and technique helped us a lot with our training. If your are looking to get certified I cannot think of a better place.
Also, I already got all my equipment from SOMD and they had the best brands and excellent prices. Paul (the owner), Marcus, and Erin, went an extra mile helping in selecting the best equipment. I recommend Southern Maryland Divers 100%. You are in good hands. Buy local, support local business. ???? – via google

I am a new diver and Marcus got me through the open water certification in time for a dive trip to Costa Rico. He’s calm, patient and explains things clearly. Southern Maryland divers helped to scuba certify my sons. Boy Scout troop. They did an awesome job supporting the scouts to get certified. They were detailed oriented and very encouraging. My younger son had ear problems during the initial certification class, and Markus went way above and beyond and made a special trip (essentially giving up his own Sunday) to help ensure my son was able to get certified and make his summer Boy Scout outing. Paul is very responsive over email. He answered all my questions promptly and worked with us to set up a private class and even had an option to schedule open water dives at our convenience (provided an instructor is available).
