5.0/ 5

All my dive training has been with Blue Marlin, at GiliT and Kuta Lombok, and I’m always impressed with the quality of service. So when I booked a trip to komodo to get some good current and mantas, I knew that Blue Marlin was the way to go.

I did 4 days and 3 nights on Ikan Biru, the live aboard. It’s is basic, but very comfortable and situated with everything you need for a relaxing and nature-filled time on and under the water. The open air deck for eating, chilling, dive briefings, and even sleeping is perfect. I didn’t realize how comfy the beds would be, our how much I’d enjoy that part of the experience. The breeze through the night kept the bugs away and the rocking of the boat was a nice lull to sleep. (The bathroom is a bit wet and the boat is shoe-free, so hopefully no one on the boat has a foot fungus to share)

The diving itself- incredible!! Mantas and sharks, but also nudis and octopus. The current was much more manageable than I was expecting (I have AOW and have 100+ dives). Unfortunately, due to the season, Shotgun wasn’t accessible, so I’ll need to come back to head to the north and take on those dives. I brought most of my equipment, but what I did use of theirs was well maintained.

The staff on the boat is awesome. Chef Josh has been on the boat since it began and keeps us all well fed and happy. The captains and deck hands know their boat, know the area, know how to dive (captain joined us on our last dive!) and know how to help divers.

It’s an expensive trip, but well worth the cost for such a wonderful experience. – via google

We took the sup and kayak eco tour. We were picked up from the resort and met our guide Dominga who gave a briefing of the islands of Turks and Caicos. We learned so much before we even started. She lead us through the Mangrove Cay where we learned about the mangroves and the animals that inhabit the area. We saw turtles and sharks and barracudas. It was so peaceful. Thanks for a wonderful experience! Would definitely go again in a heartbeat! – via google

5.0/ 5

I just did my AOW certification through Blue Marlin Komodo. First off, the in-office experience was not the best. I was told conflicting information regarding e-learning and prices when I first came to check-in the day before the dives and they forgot to get me fitted for gear so I had to come back to the shop later that same day. It was a little confusing and frustrating, but it all got sorted out so no huge deal.
The reason they get 5 stars is because everything surrounding the actual diving was fantastic. My instructor was Harold, and he was amazing. He was extremely thorough, knowledgeable, and eager to share his tips and wisdom with me. In just two days, I feel like I learned so much thanks to his instruction. I would come back just to dive with Harold again. The dive sites were great: we saw so many manta rays, turtles, sharks, and much more. All in all, a great diving experience with Blue Marlin. – via google

What an amazing adventure in Komodo!!! Highly recommend! Robert and Nataly did a refresher training in the pool on day one and made us feel so comfortable and confident. Then they took us diving!

Day two was three of the most amazing and beautiful dives I have ever had. Manta rays, turtles and every type of fish you could imagine. My mind is blown! Five star professional service!

Thank you Blue Marlin. – via google

1ere expérience en plongée juste INCROYABLE.GROS BEMOL pour mon instr…

4.0/ 5

1st diving experience just INCREDIBLE.
BIG BEMOL for my instructor ROBERT in Open Water.

1st day a little stressful for the Baptism, but according to the instructors I quickly feel at ease and can therefore pass the open water.

I found Robert not very vigilant/rigorous.
Ex: I did my laps in the pool while keeping my 4/5kg weight belt at my waist, I was half sinking, I didn’t understand why. He was laughing when he realized it, I should have taken it off… but how do I know?

He was administratively disorganized, always looking for the right papers.
Exam day, after a day of diving he asks me where I put my file which contains my exam?
I tell him I left it with the books and I don’t have it. He made me go back to my room to look. I came back, he had found it and was laughing. I was tired and stressed from the exam, he told me “cool relax” and opened the exam to the wrong page. It shifted all my answers. A lot of stress having to start all over again. At the end I ask if we can check the answers he says to me:
-Wait I send videos and the results are on the phone. Grab yourself a beer!
-I would like to have a beer once my exam is finished With the result.
Not very professional.
For him it’s probably cool. For us, students, it’s stress and a lot of fatigue.

During the sea diving day he did not check my DSD before jumping. As a result, another instructor had to signal him that my oxygen tank was leaving. He would have realized it if he “watched” a little more for his student. It was a dive that requires vigilance because outside the “rock” there is a lot of current. The instructor is supposed to signal you when you need to turn around to avoid ending up in “the deep blue” and not once did he signal me. I had to figure it out for myself. Sometimes a little late and I felt like my body could get caught in the current at any second.

I told him that I was afraid of moray eels, although they were “harmless”, when we saw them he would pull my arm to bring me closer. I was struggling, he then slapped my hands to tell me to keep them close to my body. These are my first dives I haven’t yet learned to reverse without hands.
He made me cling to the corals to observe the manta rays, me who dare not touch anything. Sometimes he was close to getting my hands on a sea urchin.
He showed me something to see and continued on his way. I didn’t have time to notice that I had to catch up with him.

Brief.

The last day, I dived with my friends’ teacher “SANDRA” and WOW! 20/10 ??
I dove calmly, and I was amazed. She is so zen, caring and knows the ocean by heart. She frequently checks in on us to see if everyone is okay. Always in search of the most beautiful wonders of the ocean, “long live the nudibranchs”. My arms naturally stayed close to me. I realized that the stress I had from the previous days was not due to discovering diving or the exam but to my instructor.

Perhaps because I quickly become comfortable, Robert thought he could get comfortable with me but I put myself in the place of someone less serene and I tell myself that an accident could quickly happen.

I wanted to leave a positive review here and put everything I just wrote privately but knowing the character, I wanted my feedback to have an impact. Despite your many years of experience, it is a profession where you must never relax your vigilance.

He asked me 4 times to leave a review and send him the screenshot. That’s it and that’s why his name is everywhere.
While the rest of the crew and instructors deserve much more praise.

So a BIG THANK YOU to the whole team both on the boat and at the hotel, I would not hesitate to recommend the place to all my friends if they are in the area.

I went on 3 Guided Dives with Instructors Robert and Dottie. This was the most amazing dive experience of my life!

The boat was clean and fast and my breakfast was delicious. Five star service from all the staff and crew. We saw 30 mantas, 2 octopus, 12 sharks, a huge marble ray, 5 moray eels, 7 turtles, peacock mantis shrimp and the most healthy coral and every variety of fish in the fish ID book.

Thank you Blue Marlin. – via google

I believe we chose the best dive center there is Took our open water cert and spent three nights with Blue Marlin Komodo. Could not have had a better experience. Our instructor was Phil and he was amazing and definitely shared his passion and respect for the scuba experience and environment with us. The dive sites were amazing and we saw manta rays and many other beautiful fish many times. Thanks also to Dania for her support and passion as well. Chris was also very helpful and accommodating when our plane was cancelled at the start. Highly recommend! – via Google

Diving with blue Marlin Komodo was absolutely amazing! So good in fact that I came back 3 months later to get my advanced after doing my open water with them.
I had Dania as my dive instructor both times, and she is an absolute dream. Not only is she super knowledgeable and a great teacher, she is super sweet as well!!
However, the entire team is honestly just amazing. They’re all a joy to be around, are professionals and so great at what they are doing. If you’re looking for a dive school in Komodo I HIGHLY recommend them! – via Google

(Translated by Google) I discovered this diving academy walking down the main street, getting information about open water. Chris and Dania were at the entrance, and I started talking to them and it so happened that Dania spoke Spanish, so it was a great point in favor of taking the open water with them. Within 10 minutes I was with Dania in the pool, where they began to do the learning exercises, and I loved it. She transmits information and knowledge very well and you realize that with her you will not have any problem underwater, and if there is, she is highly qualified to solve it and make you feel calm about it. The equipment is perfect and well maintained and the attitude of the staff and other students was wonderful, afterwards we had our beers and dinners together chatting small talk. And what about the landscape and diving in Komodo…it’s spectacular, the amount of turtles, sharks and fish that seem to come out of science fiction that you can find. In my case, I was not lucky enough to see the incredible mantas, so now I have an excuse to go back to dive with them.

(Original)
– via Google

Recommend! We had an amazing time on our liveaboard with divemasters Phil and Dania. 4 days of diving in beautiful Komodo. They were so passionate and lifted the trip to great heights. The briefings were very detailed and the greatest care is taken each dive. And of course the rest of the crew, Josh, Derry, Ricky, Manto, Tinus and Servas who provided us with all the help, delicious food and kindness. Our group will remember this forever. Thank you all♥️ – via Google
