I received two days of training hill instruction from Bryon and his assistant Mr. Ninja nearly ten years ago. They were both very patient while I learned the basics of hill launching: maintaining proper angle of attack, pulling just the right amount for speed during the run, and getting the timing just right for the flare. For me these things all took a great deal of repetition (and endurance) to get just right . The training hill at Ellenville combined with lots of patience made and a very durable glider (was it an alpha?) made for an excellent learning environment. – via
