I was scared to try diving but I knew it would be something I could enjoy if I got past the mental bit of it all. When you have an instructor like Joe, it becomes a magical experience. I was lucky to get my instructor all to myself but from friends who also got certified here I think it’s the norm to have small class sizes. Joe was so patient with me, I loved that I always felt 100% confident before moving on to the next skill. If I had any questions, he answered them in a way that was easy to understand, which I appreciated because some of this stuff can get pretty technical. I started with online videos and tests. Once I passed those we moved onto practicing the skills in the pool. At first I was very clumsy but Joe took his time with me and made sure I felt confident before moving on to the next skill. The next two days we did open water dives, (2x a day). We did the skills we needed to do but also got to explore the ocean, I saw Mantas, clown fish, an eel, stingrays, seahorses and so much more. The mix of testing with fun made me fall in love with the activity. You can really tell how passionate Joe is with Scuba, the way he talks about his experience, watching him scuba with all the fishies and even his knowledge of the animals. He really wants you to fall in love with it too (which I totally did). With every dive he made me feel safe and comfortable. As a certified open water scuba diver, I feel fully confident in my abilities to go explore the ocean in beautiful places all around the world. I promise you, you’re in the best hands with Joe and Two Fish divers. This is THE place to get certified in Bali! – via

Sorry for the delayed review, but I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Tom, Helen and all the team at Two Fish Lembongan for the most unforgettable Divemaster training experience during the summer. From the moment of arrival on the island, I was welcomed into the Two fish family with dinner and beers on the beach, and the warmth and kindness only grew throughout my 5 weeks with them on the island. As a 21 year old, who had travelled out to Indonesia alone, I could not have asked for better instructors and mentors through what at times could be a challenging course, but their support, kindness, and professionalism made it all possible! (Also couldn’t have done it without my fellow DMs Holly and Kiki who were also awesome)!!! I came away from my divemaster training with a better set of practical and social skills, but also diving experiences and confidence that will only be invaluable as I carry on into my next adventures. Hopefully I’ll come back in the next couple of years to do my instructor course with Two Fish too! Missing you all from rainy England xx – via

If you’re looking for what I think is the best way to get your open water dive cert in Bali. You have found it! The class sizes are small and give you what feels like a 1 on 1 learning experience to get you comfortable in the water! Holly and Tom were my instructors and the amount of patience and guidance I saw from both of them was superb. I’ll be honest I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy diving. After going through their class and instruction, I feel very comfortable diving. I actually enjoy scuba a lot and I plan on doing some more dives this week! I look forward to coming back and doing more dives in the future! Thanks again! – via
