Had very bad experience at Scuba Tofo during the ocean safari. We were placed with a large group who were time bound. The bad weather made it almost impossible to spot the whale sharks and we were unable to snorkel afterwards. When I said something about this afterwards I got an unfriendly response from the owner/manager. We ended up paying $50 for 2 hours on a boat in pouring rain and not seeing an animal. The safari should have been cancelled or a solution afterwards because this is no way to do business. – via google

We had a very enjoyable and rewarding 10 days at Tilak Lodge, diving at Tofo Scuba (same owner) whenever the weather permitted. The staff, especially Rhia, Bruno, & Nelson, were super helpful, and got us from scuba review to advanced against all the odds (not least of which was that we haven’t dived in years). I went from pretty terrified to very comfortable in this period, which is a testament to their skills and confidence building. The diving in early Feb was not all that easy, with big swells and currents, but totally worth it. Saw rays and sharks and eels and dolphins and so many fish species….and absolutely no pollution. Recommend sea sickness pills – and protection against the heat, as the open speedboat gave us a few issues until we got used to it.. – via google

What a great dive shop. One of the most organised dive shops I’ve seen throughout the places I’ve dived. Very professionally run. The staff are sociable, skillful and extremely knowledgeable!

One of the best locations in tofo to have a beer and watch some whales in the bay (only in season of course). It also has a wonderful restaurant attached to it that does a banging chicken prego and a variety of local dishes including matapa!

One of the best places I’ve dived due to being able to see the big and the small stuff throughout every reef in tofo. I’ve heard the whale songs on the shallow sites and FROGFISH to my heart’s content on the deep sites. There will be something for everyone to enjoy in Tofo! – via google

Only good words for this place!
When we started planning our trip to Mozambique, we emailed Tofo Scuba to give some feedback on the best travel times. Immediately from the first email Brodie sent us back, everything about this place felt right. We decided to come over in October to see the humpback whales. I did my open water course and my boyfriend did his advanced course. We were able to do some of the dives together and this was awesome! I am claustrophobic myself and had some trouble to get going with diving. My instructor (Keelan) was super patient and really made me feel comfortable. Because of him I was able to complete my course (even in the expected time frame). Also, the diving school has a partnership with the Tilak lodge which is beautiful and very close to the diving school. Again, Brodie arranged all of this for us, very helpful and nice. We definitely had the best time in Tofo thanks to Tofo Scuba. So, we would 100% recommend this place. – via google

This place has (besides a magnificent ocean), a great vibe! Me and my friend wanted to get our PADI here and I am superglad we did. From back home (Netherlands) they helped us to arrange all things necessary including doing the theory part online. On location we could start right away with the practical work. Our Instructor Olivia was very skilled. She was very clear and patient in her instructions and made me feel very at ease. The open water dives were extraordinary: I saw the most beautiful sea creatures on those I would have never imagined. Thanks to Olivia who has a good eye for spotting them. In addition to scuba diving, the ocean-snorkeling safari’s are a must. When we were there (July) there were very many humpbackwhales and the whale shark view from the water I will never forget! – via google

We had a 2 nice Ocean Safaris with Tofo Scuba in June. First time, 2 whale shark sightings and 1 with Dolphins. Couldn’t go into water with the Dolphins at the First time and some.guy scared of the whale shark the First time, cause he tocuhed him. The next day, we were able to swim with whale sharks, Dolphins and we saw humpback whales jumping. Great experience! Was fun with Alex! And not so crowdy like the others companies! We were both Times only 4 ppl..in the boat ans not 10 or more like the other boats looking for the sharks. I would always do it again. – via google

Tofo Scuba is a professional and safety first scuba diving centre in Tofo Mozambique. We did 8 dives with them over 4 days.

The team has superb knowledge of the many dive sites in the region and where and when to go based on the weather, tides and currents.

The DMs/instructors are friendly and approachable if you feel uneasy about anything. Their dive briefings although thorough and meticulous are also greatly entertaining and create great anticipation for the dives.

Many of the dives sites here are 20+m and as we are both advanced divers with Nitrox certifications we were glad to have the extra bottom time and shorter surface intervals.

Olivia, James, Nelson and Rea really know the sites well and were great at pointing out some of the rarer and more elusive sea life. Olivia specifically has an outstanding knowledge of life under the sea.

We are grateful to Five and Mannie who skippered the RIBS and spent their time on the boat while we were down.

We are glad we chose to dive with Tofo Scuba and recommend them if you are ever lucky enough to dive in this paradise.

I completed my open water diving certificate with Tofo Scuba and was extremely happy with the whole process! I had visited a few dive centres around Tofo but 100% made the right decision here. The staff were extremely knowledgeable, kind and patient!
Huge special thank you to my instructor Olivia – who was amazing when it came to explaining the skills thoroughly and a really fun companion for the dives! I felt completely safe and looked after the whole time, both under and out of the water. The staff around the centre were also all super friendly and the place had a good vibe.
Definitely would have stayed for longer if I had the time but will have to see these guys again for some deep dives! – via google

Lovely outfit to dive with. Really friendly, keen to make sure you get the experience you want, happy to advise when to dive or not to dive to get the best conditions, always positive (we were there with bad weather and they kept our spirits up despite bad visibility!), and made it feel easy and stress free. My only comment is I wish they’d offer something other than egg sandwiches for the snack beteeen dives! – via google
