We were looking to get certified with PADI before an upcoming trip. Read reviews of the local companies with classes. I came into the shop and met with Jen, who gave me the “low down” on prices for Open Water Certification, classes available, and private ones if needed. Due to our short time frame before our trip, we opted for private lessons. Jen worked behind our back to get us an instructor within a week, and helped set us up for the whole pool/open water session. We can’t thank her enough for her help getting this going so quickly. Our instructor, Garth, just completed his 1,000th dive, and was more than willing to jump in on short notice to certify us. Besides being incredibly patient and kind, Garth reallllllllllly worked with us when we were anxious, took a long time on skills, and ensured our safety the whole time. In fact, that was Garth’s motto the whole time: safety.
We couldn’t recommend Thunder Reef Divers more, or Garth. They have been a joy to “work” with and can’t wait to come back for supplies (oh yeah, discounts if you do your classes with them)! – via

My family was certified at Thunder Reef and it was an amazing experience. The instructors are professional and patient.
The staff at the shop have always been amazing and knowledgeable when it comes to diving, especially Jen.
We took our first organized trip with a group to Figi. Everything was taken care of and far exceeded our expectations. Jen did an amazing job putting the trip together and was always there to make sure everything went as planned.
My family and I can’t thank her enough for her professionalism, her knowledge and her willingness to make this trip truly rememberable for everyone who went. – via

I only write google reviews for really positive and really negative experiences. This was one of those really positive experiences. Not only did the staff at Thunder Reef squeeze me in for a private series of pool sessions one week prior to my vacation, the entire process ran very smoothly. The instructor, Garth, was also a delight. He was very encouraging and patient with me throughout the learning process, which was a must considering my anxiety surrounding the situation. They were able to set up late night (7:30-10PM) sessions with me due to my busy work schedule, which allowed me to do my check out dive in Cozumel and have an unforgettable vacation. This facility also has extensive gear selection as well as a private pool. And after calling and visiting a few other dive shops, this is a HUGE bonus. I couldn’t recommend a better place to embark on your scuba adventures. – via

After being a loyal customer for over 20 years I will no longer use this dive shop. Rented tanks here over the weekend when we got to dive site tanks were inop. Upon return the person working said I should have fixed the tank. When I replied its not my equipment she informed me I should know how to make the adjustment to repair the equipment. Again it’s not my equipment to repair. If something broke I would have been held responsible. She wanted to argue with me and said I will give you a partial refund. That’s not what I was looking for to begin with. Like I said I’ve been coming here for over 20 years,1 tank isn’t a big deal. However telling me I should know how to repair THIER equipment is ridiculous. – via
