I have done PADI dives in half a dozen tropical locations, but this dive shop is the all-around best I have encountered.

The staff are friendly and treat you as if you are a local, and a friend. They go above and beyond to ensure your safety, your fun, and your satisfaction with the trip (they even take food orders in advance so that they have the option you were hoping for between dives).

The dives themselves range from good to excellent. A wreck dive we had done was not ideal visibility due to recent windy storms, but the excursion itself still ended up being the best wreck dive I’ve ever done.

Los Islotes cannot be understated. If I could, I would do that dive 4 times a year.

If you have the option, I would wholeheartedly recommend this team of professionals. Simply put: go for it! You won’t be disappointed. – via google

Highly recommend Cortez Club La Paz. Due to unexpected high winds predicted throughout much of our trip, our excursions were either canceled or threatened to be. Ricardo was able to move our party’s excursions around to less windy areas and days so we didn’t miss anything! He fitted us with wet suits and gear and made sure we were comfortable. We snorkeled with whale sharks and also whale watched – saw bonus dolphins, too! Truly amazing experiences you MUST do with Cortez Club.
The hidden gem of Cortez Club was our shuttle driver, Sergio. He went above and beyond to make sure our drive to the excursions were memorable and fun, and that we experienced BCS in ways we never expected. He is more than a chauffeur. He has so much knowledge about the area and passion for what he does and care for those he services. We came for excursions and got so much more with Sergio. (Ask him to sing!) I trusted him so much I hired him to drive me 2.5 hours to the Cabo airport days later. His kindness, consideration, and fun will never be forgotten. We were so fortunate to cross paths with Sergio. We booked a tour for whale sharks, sea lions and balandra beach. Despite murky conditions, we swam with 5 ir so different whale sharks, and of course dozens of sea lions. The beach was very nice, but we opted for most our time with aquatic life. Thank you marco, Gael and other staff that were so accomodating. – via google

What a wonderful experience! Everyone I spoke with at Cortez Club was kind and good at what they do. I went on the whale shark snorkeling experience, followed the next day by a 2-tank dive. Marcos gave us an amazing experience with the whale sharks, taking care to make sure everyone in the group got a chance to have a great view of the sharks while also using safe and respectful practices with animal encounters. I wasn’t counting, but we probably got to have 6 or 7 encounters in under an hour!

The next day, I did a 2-tank dive, and I couldn’t more highly recommend diving with Chema & Captain Jos. As a dive master, Chema was incredibly knowledgable, patient and helpful. When I ended up getting a nose bleed while descending, he remained so calm and attentive that an event that may have otherwise caused me to panic, left me feeling calm, reassured, and in safe hands! As someone who has on multiple occasions had panic attacks while diving, this was huge for me to feel so calm so quickly. Throughout the day, the guys shared a ton of really interesting information and answered all my questions, both about diving, as well as the marine & bird life we encountered. If you’re new to diving, or a little rusty and nervous to get back out there, dive here!

Ricardo at the reception was friendly, he had all the sizes for us (we were 3 girls) of the necessary equipment to swim with the whale sharks and to see the gray whales in Porto Chale.
Sergio, our driver from Porto Chale was absolutely amazing, respectful, friendly and if you’re lucky, maybe he’ll sing you a song ;). Sergio for me, after this adventure and if he accepts, he will be a friend for life. Best boat company. Took the swim with whale sharks and sea lion + balandra bay half day tour and trust me it was the best experience ever – all thanks to the crew. Marco the guide and Llallo our boat captain (hope is name is right) ensured we did not leave without having the best time with whale sharks. We dived 3 times and all the times right next to the fish swimming with it. If you are new to snorkeling no worries Marco will hold your hand ??. Next we went with Alex the guide and Adrian the captain for swim with sea lions and balandra bay. Alex was extremely knowledgeable and we were almost touching the cheeks of the sea lions right in the middle of their colony. Alex was so calm and gentle that a couple of sea lions were playing with him giving us the best time of our lives. Definitely would recommend this tour and company. – via google

Went for both whale watching tour in May Bay and swimming with whale sharks in La Paz bay. 2 of the most incredible experience that I have ever done in my life!!! There aren’t really words to describe what we felt, so we recommend to everyone doing the same. Both were well organised and The Cortez Club is extremely helpful and responsive. We also rented a GoPro from them bus I would suggest against it as 45$ is quite pricey and quality of the video not very good. – via google

We booked a 3 day (6 dive) package + whale shark experience last week. It was a great operation. We had a private shuttle pick us up from the Cabo airport (and return us), as well as a driver that picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel everyday. We swam through 2 wreck sites, 2 reefs, dove with sea lions, and swam up close to the whale sharks. We also saw humpback whales from our scuba boat, which was very cool. Thank you Hannes for the very cool shots! I will definitely dive again with Cortez Club, hopefully in Oct when the water is warmer. – via google

Do not go here if you are a first time diver. My partner and I were first time divers and were expecting a proper introduction to scuba diving; going over safety protocol, equipment and contingency as well as a shallow dive to get acquainted with the gear. That did not happen. They got us on a boat and while we were speeding to our location one of the instructors, if you can call him that, shouted over the noise of the engine and wide the directions on how to use the regulator and clear our masks. When we arrived to the location we dropped into the water. My partner had a panic attack because she wasn’t comfortable being in that depth of water (about 50 feet) with all that weight from the gear for the first time. Probably something that could been avoided had there been a proper introduction to equipment and a slower pace to getting in deep water. An instructor from another boat, from another dive company was yelling instructions to us on how to inflate the flotation device on the vest to keep us afloat. My partner did not decide to dive and instead went back on the boat. The instructor then started pulling me underwater. I had to tell him multiple times that I was not ready yet and needed to get familiar with breathing through the regulator and regulating my ear pressure. Eventually I felt comfortable enough and went down. There were multiple times the instructor told us not to do something after we had already done it, not knowing because he didn’t tell us from the beginning. At one point I called the air in the tank oxygen, because I’m new to this and don’t know whats in the tank and they made fun of me for not knowing. On the second dive we barely used half of our air. On the ride back I told the instructor that he should go slower and give a more thorough instruction. To that he told me they were short one time. Not sure how that could be because we arrived back at the dive shop a whole hour earlier than what was promised. I contacted James, the owner of the shop to ask for a refund for my partner who did not dive and to charge her instead for snorkeling, which she also didn’t do (about $100 difference and a fair proposal) but he dismissed our experience, said he trusted his instructors but said he’d talk to them and call me back. He just ghosted me. Absolutely unprofessional. This is an example of a company that stays afloat by cutting corners and relying on new unsuspecting tourists who wouldn’t return. Do yourself a favor and go to another shop that values safety, transparency, honesty and customer experience. PS the lunch options taste terrible. – via google

My wife and I booked a travel package with The Cortez Club and all was handled perfectly from the airport transfers, hotel, and dive package. They picked us up each day from our hotel and had all of our gear ready for us at the dive shop. The rental gear and dive boats were in great shape and the staff was welcoming and helpful.

Our dive guide Alex was fantastic and very knowledgeable of the dive sites. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed and Alex impressively spoke Spanish, English, and French to keep our whole dive group on the same page. Thank you Alex!

Our boat captains Lalo and Alex were fantastic and kept our surface intervals exciting while we found humpback whales, dolphins, schools of nebula rays, and sea lions.

Highly recommend booking with The Cortez Club, their knowledge and access to fantastic dive sites is unparalleled. Thank you for everything, we will be back! – via google

This company went above and beyond to accomodate us for the whale shark tour on the very last day prior to the port closure due to high winds. They put together a crew at the last minute, specifically the last day before the port closure. We had initially booked with another company but that tour group company cancelled our tour stating they had no room for us on that afternoon day of tours even though we had booked a month prior. The Captain Javier and guide Marcos from the Cortez Club were awesome!! We are forever grateful to them for this one of a life time experience!! The Cortez club by their actions show how much they care. I highly reccommend them!! – via google

It was just an amazing day going diving with Mathieu! Sometimes diving in Mexico can be a little bit hectic and unorganised, but not here!! Mathieu was so professional, sensitive and nice! The briefing was complete and didn’t leave any questions open! Without being a babysitter you just feel in best hands all the time under water with Mathieu!
Also you get fruits in between the dives and the lunch at an amazing beach was really good and much! Can’t recommend more to go diving with them!
