Booked and received confirmation from Karen for discover scuba diving a month prior to our date. Before booking Karen was extremely rude over the phone with the questions I had. Despite that interaction I booked based on previous reviews. Despite our early arrival, we were not checked in and were ignored until the boat was getting prepared to leave. Karen stated “ we did not register or receive confirmation” and continued to blame this misunderstanding on us. I showed her the printed email confirmation and she still was extremely adamant that this was our fault. Karen stated that even though she had our reservation she wouldn’t honor the discover scuba diving. Kevin allowed us to do snorkeling for free due to the inconvenience and Karen rudely stated that “it was not my choice to allow this”. Highly disappointed in the rude customer service on Karen’s end. Kelly was very knowledgeable and apologetic for the misunderstanding on Karen’s end. I would not recommend this experience to anyone looking to book. This opportunity would have been recommended on our end if Karen was not the main point of contact. – via google

Sunn Odyssey Divers is the best kind of dive shop: a conscientious, personable, local shop. I thought that Ashley and Kelly were top notch divemasters: super knowledgeable, service-oriented, great at spotting things underwater, and had a very strong focus on safety which I really appreciated. Nick and Karen (the owners) were similarly personable and accommodating. As is common with this kind of shop, the dive group was reasonably small and most divers on the boat seemed to be fairly experienced. Despite the mostly experienced clientele, my dive buddy was a newer diver who likes to take her time setting descending and the divemasters did a fantastic job accommodating her and making her feel comfortable in the water. I thought they also did a good job of allowing the other divers to get their full bottom time in even though my buddy and I had come up a bit earlier due to our air consumption. I thought the dive sites they took us to were really good. Though I only dove with them for one day (due to the length of time I was in Freeport), I would absolutely come back and dive with them for several more days. – via google

Karen and Nick are absolutely fantastic folks who seem to love and thrive operating their own business. Their combined knowledge is amazing! Personable, professional and safe are the first three things that come to mind. Showing up, Karen stepped out and greeted us as if we had been coming there for years, after she jokingly asked us if we were looking for a dive shop. Her demeanor is extremely calming. We then were introduced to Nick, and you can immediately tell he’s a professional who likes to laugh! We then met Kelly who was going to lead our dive, and though he looks very young, his knowledge and concern for safety seemed to have plenty of years of experience behind it. We dove the Pygmy Caves and Moray Manor. This was our 3rd and 4th dives after being certified and we intend to come back in the near future! It’s like your best friend’s parents opened a dive shop, can’t recommend enough!! 10/10, Don’t forget to buy a shirt! ???????? – via google

My fiancé and I went on a cruise and booked this outside of the cruise line. Karen is the sweetest! She assured us that being on a cruise was no issue at all, and her and Nick were very accommodating to when our ship would be arriving. When we arrived, we met Nick and Kelly who got us all ready to go. We did a 2 tank dive and Kelly was an awesome guide. They were both very knowledgeable about the area and dive sites. 10/10, will be back again!! (Don’t forget to buy a T-shirt or hat!!) – via google

All around was a great experience we had diving here. It was a smaller dive group, and ran by a friendly husband & wife. They took us to quality dive locations and provided excellent service. The only complaint I had was at the end, they tried to upsell us on the merchandise (shirts etc). It made me and my fiancée feel uncomfortable. However, would recommend this dive agency to a friend! – via google

Ok, first item you need is a sense of humor! Karen, Nicholas and Kelly are happy, fun loving people that will make you feel like part of their family as soon as you walk in the door.

This is our second year diving with them. As a somewhat experienced diver I can can I feel there are the safest, fun and most accommodating dive shop in The Bahamas.

One special quality of our Dive Master, Nicolas is he is so environmentally aware and even during our dives he’s doing something to make the sea better. You will not be disappointed. – via google

Sunn Odyssey is the ONLY dive shop I will dive with on Grand Bahama Island. They made our vacation WONDERFUL!

Karen is hilarious and makes booking dives easy as pie. Our dive master Kelly is kind, knowledgeable and treated us with respect. He guided us with the perfect amount of leyway and we saw so many reef sharks and marine life thanks to him.

Other dive shops were either difficult to book with or not accommodating. Go with Sunn Odyssey, you won’t regret it! – via google

I would actually give this group a 0. When I arrived for my confirmed dive I was told it was canceled due to weather. I was not offered an alternative. BTW weather was perfect, clear skies and seas 1-2 foot. I an from Florida and the seas don’t get better than this. I was told they were expecting me 2 days later despite emails contrary. Less than 1 foot seas continued throughout the day so I can only assume there weren’t enough divers. A pity this dive center couldn’t notify me before I paid $70 Rt transportation from cruise ship and wasted a vacation day. – via google

Went there to rent snorkeling equipment and it was quite pricey (more than 60% higher than at Paradise Cove). Not sure about actual SCUBA or skin diving trips, but I would look elsewhere to rent equipment. – via google
