What a great experience! All I had to do was text the number and inquire about renting a board (I’m an experienced surfer). They responded right away and set me up with an epoxy longboard and leash in excellent condition for the next day, which they picked up and dropped off for me at a local surf spot in San Juan (La Ocho). Someone from the surf school does a dawn patrol check in the morning, and then they recommend the spot, so you don’t have to worry about checking surf reports/forecasts. They were on time and very professional, and gave me some tips on rip currents, breaks and the best place to paddle out. I rode a wave a bit too close to the reef and cut up my foot a bit (highly recommend booties if you are surfing La Ocho) and they even provided me with bandaids! Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for gear and a great experience at a reasonable price. – via
I recently had an incredibly frustrating encounter with Spectrum Surf School, particularly with a staff member named Axel, over the phone. From the moment I called with a few questions, Axel’s attitude was shockingly rude and dismissive. It was immediately apparent that he had no interest in assisting or addressing our concerns. He seemed completely indifferent to our inquiries and was unwilling to provide any helpful information. [cross posting] – via
My girlfriend and I surfed for the first time and I’m happy we did it with Spectrum Surf School. All equipment was provided, the instructor was incredibly kind, and it was a very memorable experience. It was easy to book a time, and communication was easy given I could text them about anything I had questions about. Thank you!! – via
I dont know how people do it.. I texted the number of spectrum school to get information about their service and they wanted me to pay immediately via paypal. I said I prefer to pass by the next day to have a chat- so I could get to know the people first. Next day I texted them just to here thaz they won’t offer their service to me anymore. Who pays a lot of money blindly? – via
I took my six year old twins who are not confident swimmers. My son actually clung to me at the beginning of the lesson. The instructors were so kind, positive and great with kids that he didn’t want to stop at the lesson’s end. This was my favorite memory in PR and one of the only Google reviews I’ve ever written. They. We’re. That. Fantastic. – via
