Ill start with the good, education is ok, not for the price, you could get a similar level of education at a community college. The events are usually fun and the campus has a nice look and feel to it. Other than that it is a shame I feel this way I was exiting about this school but there alot of hidden prices you must pay and for the money I wish I attended a different school but im stuck due to their 30 Credit policy. It the only college in all of you that make you pay for any form for atheltics. 55$ for a gym membership for a 3 months, 20$ for sports games pass, you have to pay to rent basketballs or other sporting games, you must pay for parking and if you can’t afford it, you either A have to walk 15 minutes to the the school and another 10 minutes searching around the overfilled free parking, or B park 1 minute closer and get a parking ticket from the little creatures that lerk the parking lot at all times try to milk everyone for there money. I would consider this school a legal scam. It a similar experience of getting a gym membership without reading the fine print, if you money is your decision maker of going to this school or another, you will pay a similar amount it different ways. I wouldn’t recommend going this school for any major except for Aviation or Nursing. – via

SUU has a horrible aviation program. They are extremely chaotic in the way they go about flight spot applications and you are never guaranteed to fly. They take in at least 3x more applicants than they have flight spots for. I applied for a flight spot for 3 semesters in a row, maintained a 3.9 gpa, had 3 really good letters of recommendation and still got denied yet other students who have just joined SUU get a flight spot their first semester so it’s very backwards and unorganized. I highly do not recommend this school for students who are serious about a pilot career. – via

One of my family members was not going to be able to be admitted to the nursing department at SUU unless she took the “jab”. Ridiculous!! An organization that professes to take the Hippocratic oath “do no harm” using the threat of no longer being able to pursue an education unless you blindly follow their mandate on your personal health. Appalling !! This university, with the help of its previous President Scott Wyatt, has destroyed the local community around it by coercing, leveraging, and bullying it’s way into building large apartment buildings surrounding its entire campus in quiet neighborhoods whose residents are full of their very own professors. The campus is not very big because the university has run out of room to build due to decades of poor management. Instead of working with the community, they instead have hedged the campus in with apartment building’s. Of course SUU administrators still complain about the need to build more education buildings. You should have thought about that before you allowed investors to encompass the entire school with apartment buildings as you walked all over the backs of the local community. I have heard so many stories about the nightmare experiences with the admissions department, sending students extra charges that are a direct result of SUU blunders not the students and the terrible forced “diversity” culture. I feel terrible for what SUU has done to the beautiful community they profess to hold so dear. – via

If I could give 0 stars I would. I only attended SUU for half a semester, but had to withdraw for medical reasons. While attending, their admin offices couldn’t seem to get my maiden name changed to my married name, and their financial aid office was constantly incompetent. One of the professors teaching the women’s history class was constantly making sexist comments and clearly didn’t want to be teaching the course. The school didn’t care. The entire half semester was issues. If you want to have to spend hours on the phone every week dealing with what should be minor issues, this school is for you. This incompetence has even continued now as I have discovered they failed to process my withdrawal properly and are now trying to collect supposedly “owed” tuition. They have been sending me in circles to 3 different departments, 4 different “supervisors”, and not a single one of them seem to be able to even tell me what is going on. I am even being told different stories about my account only to have them change their story a few days later. This is why I will NEVER go back or recommend them. – via

I just got off a 51 minute phone call and was transfered upwards of 7 times to try and find an answer as to why I was charged extra tuition, and no one was able to help me find out how to adjust my student aid. These are such fun and memorable experiences. I’m happy this is my last semester. Soley based on the financial aid, registrars, and cashier offices lack of knowledge about something they should be well versed in, I will never recommend SUU to anyone. Not worth the hassle of going through this EVERY semester. – via

The team here made this already amazing experience absolutely unforgettable. They were all super nice, really informative, and very easy to work with!! I felt completely safe from the moment I got on the plane to the moment we landed on the ground with our parachute!! Huge thank you to Rick and Rex for helping me find a passion for skydiving! Oh-and in a terrible miscommunication we totally grabbed Rick’s phone off the table thinking it was ours. And when we drove back to give it to him, he was super sweet about it! Great guy to be jumping out of an airplane with! – via

Southern Utah University has been a fantastic place for our children to receive a great education. It is a vastly underrated university, with tremendous opportunities for excellent students. Our children who have gone here have qualified for larger schools, even with scholarships, but have opted for Southern Utah University because of its proximity to national parks, providing world-class recreation, and because of the value for the cost of education: it’s a world class education. For instance, more students place at the University of Utah Medical School from SUU than from the U of U itself! My kids have loved student life at SUU, and have found an excellent social, academic, athletic, and nourishing environment. – via
