I thought I was booking with a top provider based on the reviews. Was unfortunately disappointed. Partly very unprofessional behavior of the guides. The girl of the crew does not even introduce herself and then come to queries nothing but useless and stupid comments. She tells the divers to hold on to the coral while watching manta rays. Absolute NO GO! Another guide demands that you deactivate the deep-stop function on the dive computer. I am at a loss for words! – via google

Diving with friends 🙂 Thank you South Ari Dive Center for a fabulous experience. I booked 10 dives in advance and ended up with 16 dives and additional 3 days on the boat. Diving around Dhangethi is wonderful and every dive was like a little surprise as I didn’t expect to see that variety of underwater life. We have seen sharks at almost every dive (white tip and grey reef sharks), turtles, manta, marble ray, mobulas, tuna, jack fish, etc. My favourite dive site is Kudah Rah Thila, also called “fish soup” – you find yourself in between thousands of blue striped snappers and there is always a high chance for reef sharks. The team was always helpful and we had a lot of fun on the boat. I always felt safe and secured, thanks to Shaalley, Sea-Jay, Denis, Leevan and Sharif – it was a pleasure to dive with you, thank you so much for this great experience and thank you so much for showing me your beautiful underwater world. I will come back for the whale sharks 🙂 – via google

We contracted a diving pack with them, but they were full and they referred us to another one because they were full (and thank goodness).
– We asked to do 6 dives and, instead of asking how we wanted to distribute them, they gave us 3 and 3 in 2 days, when we would have preferred to do 2-2-2.
– The other center we ended up with asked them for the hotel where we were to contact us and they were not able to look at the papers we had filled out to give it to them.
– They told the other center that we were flying back on the wrong day (when they made it very clear in the papers we filled out), so they could not organize the dives well and we had to keep changing schedules.
– We paid in euros, but they charged us the same as in dollars, despite the fact that €1 = approximately $1.05. The rest of the establishments on the island convert currency.
– The two times we dealt with them, they were very unfriendly.

It will be the largest diving center on the island, but I do not recommend it at all. Much better any other.

Muy mala experiencia con ellos.
Contratamos con ellos un pack de buceos, pero estaban llenos y nos derivaron a otro porque estaban llenos (y menos mal).
– Pedimos hacer 6 buceos y, en lugar de preguntar cómo los queríamos repartir, nos pusieron 3 y 3 en 2 días, cuando hubiéramos preferido hacer 2-2-2.
– El otro centro con el que acabamos les pidió el hotel donde estábamos para contactar con nosotros y no fueron capaces de mirar los papeles que habíamos rellenado para dárselo.
– Le dijeron al otro centro que volábamos de regreso un día erróneo (cuando lo ponía bien claro en los papeles que rellenamos), de manera que no pudieron organizar bien los buceos y tuvimos que andar cambiando horarios.
– Pagamos en euros, pero nos cobraron lo mismo que en dólares, pese a que 1€ = 1,05$ aproximadamente. El resto de establecimientos de la isla, hacen la conversión de moneda.
– Las dos veces que tratamos con ellos, fueron muy antipáticos.

Será el centro de buceo más grande de la isla, pero no lo recomiendo para nada. Mucho mejor cualquier otro. – via google

A truly great experience diving with South Ari Dive Center. On top of great dives on spectacular dive sites and huge marine life (incl. 3 Whale sharks), the team delivered 100% in every detail. Everything from the boat captain monitoring the divers, the dive masters, the service onboard and the small excursion included in the trip made the dives amazing. A fantastic expereince and had 6 very good days with the dive center. Great team. – via google

I spent a lot of money and travelled a long way to get to the Maldives….and specifically to Dhangheti Island….and specifically to South Ari Dive Center — to dive with the whale sharks, which the dive shop confirmed when I booked and provides 99% guaranteed sightings. I also highlighted this to the dive guides on my first day, but no plan was made to ever visit those sites, and on my last day I was told we didn’t have time since I had to take the boat back to Male (which they knew beforehand since they booked the boat for me). They later said it was due to weather, but 2 out of the 3 days were calm seas with no wind. – via google
