Amazing location, the lake is just breathtaking with the mountains and ice caps around it.
You can go down to the lake and even see some condors flying around if you’re lucky.
Keep in mind that being at almost 3000 meters above sea level, the air is thin and can make you tired way faster than expected on the way up. So take your time and bring a bottle of water just in case.
If you’re staying at the hotel, try to get a room with a view to the lake, it is absolutely amazing.
Being located at the top of the Andes Mountains it can be a bit tricky to get there, requiring you to drive up the mountains on a small winding road with a lot of semi trucks going up and down. Just got to be careful and watch out for snow during the winter. – via

(Translated by Google) beautiful setting. We stayed in a CHALET: comfortable bed, semi-equipped kitchen, beautiful views, bathroom amenities, correct heating and hot water. They are old, but they perfectly fulfill the function of hosting (very comfortably) in the mountains, with a great view. The breakfast is very good, it is served in the hotel. The attention of the staff is regular: although we had deposited 50% of the deposit, upon arrival they inform us that we were not registered. Even so, we were able to stay “because luckily there is a free chalet”, they told us. Some very friendly waiters, and some very unfriendly. The location is 5 minutes from the Argentina-Chile border control.

Hermoso entorno. – via
