What a bad experience.
We paid in advance for nitrox, but the dive shop didn’t even notice it 1 hour before departure.
At the end, they tried their best to squeeze out 6 nitrox tanks for my gf and me, but the dive guide just used normal air….
We ended up with 100 bars left…. but our dive guide was already emptied….
It’s totally unworthy. Never pay in advance. – via

Dive material good condition but groups are not organized per dive level although they said in the Office they do it. Dive time between 45 and 60 minutes but finally was 40 minutes per dive although everybody has more than 60 bar when we finished the dives. Dive guide just looking at their phone all the time not very involved in the Dive. – via

I stayed here 5 nights in mid-November as a solo female traveler, and truly loved the property – I do love a good concrete structure though! It keeps places cool and clean. Staff were abundant and super helpful. There are a few maps and guides in the lobby that give you ideas of what to do & see in and around Dumaguete. They were able to organize a trike for me to get to Dauin, about 45 minutes away (500 PHP). Live music on Friday nights. You can walk about 30 minutes to the center of town or take a shared trike for 10-15 pesitos. I took a Zoom interview at 5am on a Wednesday morning that didn’t crack, so I’d say internet is quite strong. Lots of tables & chairs to relax and chill, lots of cute lighting. The ROOMS/BED: MASSIVE! You could keep ALL your luggage at the foot of your bed if you want to, there’s so much extra space. I also appreciate the individual light, outlet, and bars to hang clothing/towels from. The rooms all have AC that can be adjusted as well. I liked how the bathrooms and showers are outside & well-ventilated, and soap is available. The restaurant Palmitas had a wide variety of food and dishes and open from morning to night, offering even snacks and coffee all day. While it may cost a bit more than other restaurants in the area, it’s great for convenience, has a great ambiance and an extensive menu. – via

Just had another amazing dive experience with the team at Sierra Madre Divers. Troy knows how to make you feel welcome and always has a cold beer ready at the end of a dive day.
Vernie is a fantastic dive master who can pick out critters on our wall dive, as well as that amazing school of jacks. Thanks Vernie!! Shout out also to Joseph who was so caring with our group.
Ellie it was lovely to catch up with you after so many years – awesome instructor!
Irish and Julie make everything so easy with paper work and set up at the start of each day.
These guys are professional, extremely knowledgeable and most of all they know how to make diving fun!
See you again soon
Thanks again

We went on a diving trip with Sierra Madre divers to Balicasag , we dived in black forest and divers heaven diving spots, dives we’re really great, lot of animals, turtles, a huge fish bench. Wasn’t the only good thing, trip was really good, the atmosphere. Boat was great, they had water, cooke and some fruit for all, but special mention to the staff who were really nice, they were aware of all people, helping them, assisting them, making it easy and slow, to make the full experience wonderful unlike other dive centers that make you hurry up and make you get stressed to the water. Groups were 4 people maximum, which is perfect if you want the instructor to be able to handle any situation. We dive with Verni, great instructor, nice and always watching people, respecting nature and very supportive all the time. I would definitely dive back. The only room for improvement are the center restrooms, didn’t look very clean that day. Also a shower would be much appreciated after diving. Nothing important though. – via
