The best snorkeling / scuba diving experience in Belize!! We have been snorkeling many places and this was the best yet! Victoria was our guide – she was so nice, funny, and great at spotting creatures. In total we saw many schools of fish, urchins, dolphins, manatees, a baby shark, jelly fish, sting rays, lobster, and crab…wow! Absolutely would recommend this excursion to anyone and everyone! This was THE BEST DAY of our vacation. We went snorkeling on a private tour with our family and our guide and boat captain were so much fun. They were relaxed and shows us many unique things about the Great Barrier Reef of Belize. Highly recommend. We’ve been to many places to snorkel and this was in the top 2 for sure!!! – via google

+Sea Sports Belize were by and large professional and helpful in arranging our dive.

-We experienced our dive master as somewhat confronting, direct and impolite

-We were two people joining the trip but only one of us was diving. The second one joined as a “bubble watcher” for a whopping USD 90. However when we asked if she could borrow a snorkeling mask they wanted USD 11 more for this (after the initial USD 90 to be on the boat). I think this should have been included and question their hospitality. Prices were in general very stiff considering the location. – via google

Small boat with only a few divers, no over crowded boats. Our dive master Victoria was awesome and provided a lot of interesting facts about the local culture and the reef. This is the type of small local dive shop I wish was available in more locations. – via google

Short version: Canceled trip without telling me, and an employee was oddly belligerent.

I tried to make a reservation through the website about 2 months before my trip. About 1 month before my trip I was told that I have a reservation. Exchanged a few emails with Linda after that over the next couple weeks. When I showed up the day of my trip, I was told that I had no reservation but they could take me with the boat that day anyway. One of the employees (trip leader?) then spent a while looking at a computer and eventually called Linda, and then told me that I couldn’t go. He became increasingly angry, and began lecturing me about it all being my fault because I hadn’t paid ahead of time and I hadn’t called to confirm.

Mixups happen, and while I was disappointed that I couldn’t dive, I could have let that go. (FWIW I checked the email thread, and while there was mention of getting a confirmation sheet which I missed in the lead up to my trip, there was no mention of prepaying or of it being my responsibility to call and confirm.) The real issue is the employee lashing out at a customer. It was unprofessionally, and frankly just weird.

Leaving two stars instead of one because the other employee I dealt with was quite nice, and they did seem to be well stocked and doing a good job getting their other customers moving along. – via google

I don’t even know where to start with his awesome this crew is. They were great pre-arrival to the dive to dropping us off closer to the cruise transfer terminal at the port. They made everything so easy and were informative. They did things properly and by the book with Nitrox and a proper safe dive. Some other places just kinda wing it and it’s not like you are trained in when you are doing open water classes. Boats are small and that means you get great access to dive places, and smaller groups. You don’t have to worry about your tour being 25 people. They have been on the water their whole life and live it. They can’t wait to share it with you. We can’t wait to dive with them again! – via google

Where do I start…this place is amazing! They were so accommodating when we were extremely late departing from the cruise ship but everything went on without a single problem. Next, our go-pro ran out of storage so Victoria (dive master) used hers and sent us the pictures/videos. Junior was our captain, who not only drove the boat phenomenally during rough conditions but he helped calm my nerves of doing a roll back entrance. Another thing I love about this experience was, both Junior and Victoria picked the dive sites right on the boat based on visibility and conditions. The staff definitely cared about your safety but most importantly to me, making us feel as we were friends just hanging out. Even the simplest things like Junior making sure my hair was out of my face so the mask didn’t pull my hair. I would love to come back to Belize to experience the blue hole one day. Victoria and Junior made this experience one of my favorite dives and I would choose Sea Sports Belize again without hesitation! – via google

I don’t even know where to begin with how amazing our experience was with Sea Sports Belize. It started with Linda patiently coordinating with us while I decided on whether or not to get my PADI OW certification with them (I did!) & finding my husband’s long-lost certification ID; John & Sam working with me & my husband in the pool until I was truly comfortable doing all of the OW skills; Junior (captain), Jose (dive master), & Sam (instructor) giving me encouragement & keeping me calm throughout all of the open water dives – everyone made us feel so welcomed in Belize. I have really bad anxiety, but I felt so reassured & safe with this incredible team coaching me through. They marry together professionalism with the “mom & pop” shop warmth – you really couldn’t be in better hands. So thankful for this experience!! – via google
