We got OW certified with Dive Instructor Simon. If you want a fly-by-night operation where you get the thrill of wondering if you’re doing this scuba thing correctly, or if you’ll float away to Venezuela, this is not for you.
If you’re thinking about diving you’ll get the best training and underwater views with ScubaCaribe in Aruba.
Simon is VERY knowledgeable and he really does enjoy sharing that knowledge. If you have Simon for an instructor he makes sure every student gets attention and guidance through every step. As a student you will learn and develop skills at a good pace, and when you pass the class you do so because you earned it and demonstrated skills. I never got the impression any student gets pushed through and passes just because they sign up. And that’s good, you don’t want to be pushed through something like this. If you’re really struggling with something the instructors will work with you one on one outside of normal class.
We did 4 open water dives for class, and then signed up for another 2 dives. For the open water dives, DiveMaster Miguel joined the group. It was very reassuring to have an extra set of eyes monitoring the group in case anyone had any issues. Both Simon and Miguel were happy to answer all our questions (like where’s the best spot to get lunch, or where did the KITO KITO go?)
Highly recommend! – via

My wife and I are certified open water divers and while booking Scuba caribe promised us the dive spots would be antilla and arashi reef (best spots in aruba) , however when we got on the boat the dive master briefed us 2 completely different dives (both deep dives). When asked why not antilla, dive master said it is what the office has told him. After the first dive the plans were changed again as the group along with us could not go for another deep dive, the dive master with the second group mentioned to us that the dive shops gives preference to people who buy more dives from them. This meant we were taken to a very shallow 8m reef almost like a snorkel reef and had to complete our second dive there. Upon returning we asked at the office why the plans were changed, we were told that the plan can be changed last minute and they are never certain ( different frm what the dive master told us). Dive master Miguel was very good, but the dive shop should ensure they are not ripping off customers by promising something they can’t deliver. Or giving preference to people who buy a package from them, if they do then be honest enough to say that upfront. We really wanted to see the antilla but had to buy another trip to view it. Disappointed.

The staff, from the front office, the dive guides, captains, and support were wonderful. All were accommodating to us and were very friendly to us and really gave off the “One Happy Island” ethos. I cannot recommend them enough, as we literally went back there everyday we were on the island. Scuba Caribe will be a big reason we come back to Aruba. – via
