I got my Open Water license with Zanzibar Watersports and would recommend this experience to everyone! At first I really had problems with equalizing and water entering the mask, but Elon is about the most patient person in the world. Once he said ‘as an instructor Im a problem solver’ and that’s exactly what he radiates. But it’s not just him, the entire team is super friendly, patient and flexible as well. In addition to diving, they also offer several other activities such as kite surfing, fishing, kayaking and much more – a complete all-round package. I will definitely come back! Thank you so much ???????? – via google

Amazing is the word to describe these guys, we took the dhow boat snorkelling tour to Mnemba Island to see the coral reef. Please note, don’t go if you have sea sickness, the boat does rock on the high waves, a couple of the people on the boat when we did it had to go back because she was too sick. But, apart from that the experience was amazing, the guys were truly experts in their field and they know how to entertain their customers too, after the snorkelling was done we had onboard food which we very much enjoyed along with drinks, I personally got wasted as I was feeling so happy and careless. ?? All in all, book with these guys, its worth all the pennies. 5 stars throughout. – via google

Would definitely recommend using Zanzibar water sports for any water activities you would like to experience. Snorkeling around Mnemba island was my favorite! I have never seen so many fish in one location and the reef there appears to be thriving and healthy. A must see! Snorkeling Tumbatu was another great experience as well! Chris and Irene and their staff make sure you have a great time! Highly recommend! Check them out on these Facebook and Instagram accounts:

– via google

3.0/ 5

We had 2 days of diving (4 dives total) and went to Tumbatu Island and Mnemba Island. The dives themselves were great, and reserving the dives with Gail was easy and was in good communication. We saw dolphins both days on the way to our dive site, too!

The dive guide’s briefing however was minimal and not comprehensive. There was minimal explanation of the dive plan, local ecosystem, what to see, what to expect. Low quality briefing, and the crew was not interested in conversing with the guests in any way.

Our boat had a group of snorkelers, and the crew never explained that there may be jellyfish. One member was stung and had to simply suffer on the boat. Would’ve been very helpful to advise or provide snorkelers a skin suit.

The assistant captain and snorkel guide, Sadik, was a prick to us and it was completely unnecessary. We asked him to stop talking to us in this manner, but he continued. One bad apple can really ruin a customer’s experience.

My recommendation to the shop is to improve safety standards with the guests. Thorough dive briefings go a long way in building trust. – via google

5.0/ 5

Professional diving centre next to Kendwa Rocks Hotel. Don’t mistake it for the hotel’s scuba centre called Zanzibar Watersports.
Scuba Do is a five star PADI centre and offers snorkeling, as well. I went for the advanced PADI course and did the theory online at home so I could immediately go for the real thing.
My scuba instructor was Adam, a very experienced and calm guy who took the time for the pre-dive briefings. We selected our five dives together, including a night dive, and finished it in two days.
Boats are very fast, equipment good. No toilet on board. Plenty of water bottles and of course do not use layers of sunscreen before diving since it will not do aquatic life much good. Assemble at 9, back after the dives around 2:00 – 2:30.
Toilet at the centre is at the adjacent hotel.
Dive sites are amazing: turtles, sea horses, stone fish, all the tropical fish you’ve seen on Nemo’s and squids at the night dives. Amazing!

Had an awesome experience learning to scuba dive with Fidel and his padawan dive master Christina. Had intro lesson with Fidel in the ocean and I was hooked on first try. Signed up for two dives for the following morning. The first dive the 5 of us beginners were watched like hawks by the three dive masters until they were sure we were comfortable and had the hang of things.

The second dive, I have to admit was a lot more relaxed and I enjoyed it even more. Thanks to SoobaDo I am now hooked. – via google

We are so happy we chose Scuba Do Zanzibar as our dive shop to help get us Advanced Open Water Certified. Haji #1 was our instructor for the 3 days and put together 6 nice dives for us including Mnemba Atoll. Communication was clear and easy, the fast boats were welcomed, especially for the longer trip to Mnemba. The ONLY con was the newness of their equipment, it was all in fine working condition, just a little tired. Also, we were happy we had our own masks, but overall, we were very happy with the entire crew and the great dive sites. – via google
