In my opinion, diving is dangerous enough that you don’t need Austin’s help in making it more dangerous. I dropped off almost mint-condition equipment for service and inspection. When I picked up I was given old used beat equipment. My tank’s original tank “was” unblemished with the exception of my very uncommon last name written in black permanent marker at the top. The response from the manager was oh too bad. The number on your ticket matches the old beat-up tank we gave you. Maybe it will come back next year during mini lobster season. It’s odd because in my experience most people would immediately recognize the tank was not theirs (you know because it’s white and it has my last name written in very clear big black letters..) and complain. Like if you are bowling even if the shoes they hand you are newer than yours you say I want my old shoes, right!?!?! Well this is life-sustaining equipment for use in an environment that is hostile to human life. So whoever stole my our tank saw it, took it on purpose, and knows exactly what they have. I lost a $200 tank. My son learned a lesson. The person who stole our tank…it’s probably just one in a long chain of poor choices.. so you know. As for Austin’s, and small businesses in general, don’t cry me a river. Will be filing a police report. If it is an isolated occurrence, okay then. If not, at least the community will be on alert. – via
