The group of islands is spectacular, nothing like the view, there are no words to describe such beauty, but… Phi phi don is a Salou where the party does not end all night. It’s a shame that a paradise is being planned for the party. The beach shore is littered with plastic, straws and cans that end up in the sea, because absolutely no one collects them. As a tourist, I have dedicated my rest time to collecting trash, despite paying a fee to clean the island – via

A paradise transformed into hell because of mass tourism constantly boosted by touting advertisements. Magnificent island unfortunately massacred by concrete and always more and more constructions to dump hundreds of kilos of human flesh without providing sufficient water supply and evacuation. Beaches where you cannot swim because of the saturation of hundreds of busy boats. Main street where it is very difficult to navigate. In 20 years, how eroticism has become pornography. It used to be a beautiful island. Unfortunately, mass tourism has destroyed everything, the reefs are all dead, the rest is full of rubbish, I freed a fish from a plastic bag while snorkeling.
There is not a ONE good hotel on the entire island. Even the most expensive hotel is just bad, these islands should be closed to tourism and you locals should let you dispose of your rubbish.

This is a beautiful place that’s being ruined by tourism so as a tourist myself I feel somewhat guilty. It’s jammed with people, the hotels are mostly poor quality and the place smells awful most of the time. We were there for three days rather than just a day trip visit. Very disappointing. – via
