Terrible and stressful experience to the tune of missing over a thousand dollars. Super scummy and scammy, no honesty and rude customer ‘assistance’.
First, ATM machine on board fails to dispense money, but still I was charged $500 for literally nothing. No receipt or anything. Front desk says it happens all the time with that machine!! Like they couldn’t fix or replace it? Now I have to fight with my bank for the money, trying to convince them I’m not scamming them.
Next random charge for $600 worth of towels. Like how do they even come to this amount. They say it’s $25 for an unreturned towel, but I didn’t even take any towels let alone 24 of them! After arguing with the service desk they remove the charges, at least they were kind here.
Next I try to settle my account on the last day and pay with a card. I ask the concierge desk to not hold my card on file since I know they will hold a ton and only refund much later (2-3 weeks). She says she wont hold the card, but holds the card anyway and there goes another $99.75 out to limbo.
Lastly, I tried to settle my account on the day before arrival to finish and be done with this whole mess, but the tips go through late on the departure morning and I have to go back again to pay some small tips I left for the bartenders.
Overall feels like straight fraud. Pay attention to your charges or you might find $600 worth of towels to deal with and sure as hell don’t use a credit card or their ATMs!
I can forgive the high service fees, the pricey everything, mandatory gratuity on top of everything, but I can’t forgive straight fake charges and known faulty ATMs. – via

Will NEVER use Royal Caribbean again!! They refused to return $500 deposit or give credit towards a new cruise. Our grandchild is due at the time of the cruise and they informed us that even if we rescheduled the cruise, they will penalize us and add an additional fee of $100 per person! Horrible customer service!! Much better cruise lines with better customer service out there! – via
