So much fun today!
I decided to join the 9h30 morning group class, which ended up being my husband and I. Our surf instructor was a very nice and patient guy who gave us the best tips for enjoying this sport. The waves at Freights Bay were perfect for beginners like us, long and not too strong. There were some sea turtles swimming next to us while surfing, such a great experience! Although taking 1 day lesson is a bit expensive here, I will definitely recommend Ride The Tide Surf School! – via

My favourite part of Ride the Tide experience was meeting all of the amazing people who work there. Jay, D’Angelo and Zee are very friendly and welcoming and passionate about what they do. They’re all patient and knowledgeable instructors who go the extra mile when teaching how to surf.
They had me up on the board the first day of my 3 lessons. I couldn’t wait to go back the next two days and will definitely return when I’m on the island again. – via

Jay and his coaches are absolutely brilliant at Ride the Tide! Jay listens to your needs, your level of experience and matches it to what your lesson involves and to what board best suits you.
Super flexible and happy to swap out a board if need be or change a lesson time. Boards are all good quality too.
Zee, my coach, was a star; patient, kind and got me on lots of waves! – via

Surf lessons for our whole fam with Jay and D’Angelo were a highlight of our already amazing visit to Barbados. Jay worked with our three youngest – 8, 10, and 12 years old – and within minutes on the water the kids were up and surfing! D’Angelo was chill and a great coach and got the rest of us up in no time, too! I couldn’t believe that in one lesson every single one of the 6 of us got up and legitimately surfed. We felt safe and informed. Freight’s Bay was an excellent location and being surrounded by curious sea turtles only made the experience better. I highly recommend RTT if you’re thinking of giving surfing a try! I’m in my late 40s and not in great shape and was able to do it. We scooped some rashguards and hats at the end too so have some fun souvenirs of a great time. – via
