I had an incredible adventure with Puerto Rico Interior Tours!
Booking was a breeze, thanks to Adam who hooked me up through Facebook Messenger. Shoutout to him for being super patient while I figured out my last-minute plans. Plus, he even sent over a helpful packing list to get me prepped for the trip.
On the day of the adventure, I met up with my guides, Gabriel and Pablo. They were fantastic! Not only were they knowledgeable and funny, but they also made sure we had an unforgettable experience. Pablo’s instructions were clear and easy to follow, giving me the confidence to rappel into the cave and Gabriel’s photography skills meant I didn’t have to worry about capturing the moment.
We opted for the 7-cave exploration with rappelling, and it was absolutely thrilling. From discovering petroglyphs to rappelling into caves with rich history, every moment was filled with excitement. Pablo even took a moment to lead us in reflection in the darkness of the cave, which added a meaningful touch to the experience.
Now, for some packing tips: Be sure to wear sturdy hiking boots or closed-toe shoes, as well as long socks to protect against thorny vines. You have the option to attach a GoPro to your helmet to capture the adventure. You need a headlamp so bring one from home or stop by Walmart and pick one up for $5. I drank a lot of water before the trip and only brought one water bottle during the 4 hour trip to stay light.
