I have always enjoyed going into Poseidon Adventures. Randy the owner is a former Navy seal and industrial diver. He is very knowledgeable. My wife and I have taken multiple scuba classes there. They have a diving pool onsite. This makes it very convenient. You can go straight from the classroom to the pool. Not sure if they went ahead and closed due to the pandemic or retirement. – via

I took the Padi Open Water class here and and had a great experience with Randy, the instructor, and the other staff! I wanted to be certified before diving in Thailand and this definitely helped me prepare. Randy can be tough but only because he wants you to be fully knowledgeable and prepared for the open water which is why i liked his teaching style. He also explained techniques very well and why we needed to know them. He made sure we knew the skills necessary before taking us to the lake and i felt very safe with him. Would definitely recommend anyone to take his class. – via

Great place. I’ve been diving with Poseidon since 1989. One of the most experienced dive instructors in the area. Randy is a deep diver with lots of stories and history. I’ve gone through Dive Master with him. He’s tough and loves his students. He keeps high expectations of your abilities and commitment to yourself to live your word and achieve your own success. – via

I found the owner to be quite unfriendly and not in the least customer service oriented. It all seemed to be his way or the highway. I’m not saying that I will NEVER go to this shop again, but I’ll have to need something pretty badly and not be able to get it anywhere else (which is rather unlikely). – via

I took the padi scuba class with 2 of my kids. The instructors were very rude. The instructors added so much stress to the learning how to scuba dive by being verbally abusive when anyone made a mistake. Go anywhere else to learn to dive!!!! The class of 6 all felt the same way, especially the owner Randy was the worst instructor. I am totally confused on how they have any good reviews. – via

I scheduled a PADI equipment class with Randy, the owner, for Feb. 1. And, even though, no on else signed up for the class, Randy went ahead with the class with just me. I can’t remember a time when I learned so much in such a short amount of time. Randy is not only knowledgeable about all things SCUBA, he is a great teacher, as well. The best part was he had all different SCUBA instruments (regulators, SPGs, depth Gauges, etc.) and would take them apart, explain what each part did and, then, put them back together. Of course, this was an interactive class and I also had the opportunity to disassemble and re-assemble everything. I cannot recommend Randy and Poseidon Adventures enough … Great owner. Extremely knowledgeable. Extremely professional. I’ve started from open water through rescue diver, and plan on going through dive master up to Instructor. Randy, the owner, is known worldwide through out the dive community for his high teaching integrity and exceptional staff. They are truly the most knowledgeable dive group available. – via
