My first jump ever and couldn’t have asked for a better instructor and knowledgeable guy to jump with. Chris is passionate about what he does and deserves a raise imo. I highly recommend paying the extra for the beach jump as well bc to me it was well worth it. I will definitely give this place my business again when I’m in the area as I have found a new favorite hobby=) – via

IMPORTANT: DO NOT BUY ANYTHING HERE!!! I ordered an expensive wetsuit from Patriot online a month ago and they have still not shipped it and dodge all of my emails/calls. The only way I could get them to respond was by contacting the manufacturer of the wetsuit (Henderson) who had to reach out to them and make them email me back about getting the wetsuit sent to me. And **even then** they still haven’t sent it–after the one email saying “sorry we missed this” they stopped responding and haven’t sent it (it’s been weeks). If I they didn’t have an good online presence I would think it was a scam (maybe it is?). DO NOT BUY ANYTHING HERE – via

BEWARE!!! Back in March 2020 both my fiancé and I paid for the scuba certification course, $429 each, $858 total. Due to covid the class was postponed, which was totally understandable. However, several months passed with no communication as to when/if they intended to resume classes. We reached out many times through both calls, emails, and Facebook messages, and only once did we get a response from Rob (the owner) saying that they were no longer holding classes and that we would get a refund. That was in October, and now it is March 2021 and my fiancé and I still have not received a refund or reimbursement of any kind. We have tried to reach out since then but have never heard back. So now we are out $858 and the owner clearly has no intention of doing anything about it! I don’t know how someone like that stays in business. Stay away from Patriot Dive Center! – via

Don’t go anywhere else! This is the friendliest and most helpful shop I know. This shop is the best when it comes to promoting fun and safe diving. PDC and crew are also always so helpful for UNCW students. Started diving here 5 years ago and wouldn’t go anywhere else. – via

Just finished getting my open water certification through Patriot. My friend recommended them too me (even though he got certified at a different dive shop in Wilmington) and I’m glad he did cause I had a great time with great people (recommend getting Will as your instructor if you do any certifications.) I just finished my AOW last weekend and had an amazing experience as always with Patriot Dive Center. Their entire staff does a great job of treating everyone like family, and they really make joining the dive community super easy and enjoyable. I had Will as my instructor and he does a great job of making you feel comfortable and safe all while teaching you new things and helping you get the most out of each of your dives! I have been fortunate to learn everything about diving thus far through Patriot Dive Center. The staff has always been incredibly helpful.
I had Kelsey and James for my open water class and both are amazing to learn from. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and professional instructors. The owner Rob will help you with any questions you have and is genuine, professional, and friendly business operator with an incredible amount of experience.
This past weekend I finished my AOW class with Will. He was top notch with answering any question I had, helped me thoroughly learn the topics covered, and always makes you feel confident and safe.
There’s a reason I’ve chosen this place for each class and specialty course I have taken. I would 100% recommend this business and it’s staff. Should you have any interest in learning to dive, continuing dive certifications, or just want to inquire about where to start, then I would say look no further and go with PDC. – via
