Great place to get advice on all manor of dive and sailing kit. Worth the very small extra you pay over internet prices to keep places like this in business!

EDIT. I’ve been coming to ocean leisure for a few years now and it’s definitely on the downhill slope. The camera section is tiny now, there’s hardly any scuba gear anymore and the accessories behind the till are gone.

I asked about regulator servicing and was told there’s a three week wait even before they’re sent off to the third party who does this. Why not at least mention this on the website which states that regs are ‘sent off on a Tuesday and normally returned within three weeks “

I really can’t see the shop surviving too long as it seems to be more and more bare each time I visit. I hope it turns around. – via google

So a little underwhelming.
I went to the store in person, had to change my train, but, I thought it would be worth it.
I wanted to view an in stock item (mask with prescription inserts). I arrive and there was just a “no haven’t got it” No offer of a restock date, maybe a sorry “can I take your details and let you know when it’s back in” I was dealt with in 45 seconds flat and that included a trip to the stock room to check that their website is wrong!
As way of a conversation closer I was just told to check the website, which has to make you smile, as we established that was incorrect in the first 10 seconds of my visit.
So they’re still showing stock of the product as I write but I know that’s incorrect.

I love the in-person retail experience. But, for it to survive it has to offer that little bit more. Today as least, Ocean Leisure did not manage this.

Great service getting my dive computer battery replaced. On drop off and pick up staff were excellent, really engaged and friendly, and very communicative about when the computer was ready.
Overheard one of their staff with some other customers describing different dive computers to them – wow, what amazing knowledge! Absolutely priceless the amount of care and involvement the staff have in sales. Not somewhere you have to figure it all out for yourself, but instead you can get amazingly detailed advice.

Excellent dive shop. High quality equipment and regulator service is good too, albeit can take long before summer. There’s also a camera equipment shop where the photo pro gives good tips. They also sell sailing equipment, bags and clothing. I’ve been coming here for 20 years and always leave happy. Staff knowledgeable and friendly. – via google

Very arrogant customer service. I called up customer service for help. In the end they said “can you email us, that’s easier ’cause we’re busy at the moment”. Very poor service. I have bought lots of diving stuff here and the in-store staff were generally helpful. The guy I spoke on the phone today is “one of a kind”. – via google
