We had the most wonderful time with Northland Dive. The experience from booking to arriving at the milkshed to going on the liveaboard was exemplary. Julia, Shane and Listen were so lovely and made us feel right at home. The food and operation on the boat was incredible. The other divers on our trip were terrific. Diving was awesome with a really nice variety of dives – all those wonderful underwater creatures going about their days. Highlights were seeing large snapper, eagle rays, so many cool scorpion fish, beautiful nudibranchs. Sleeping in Rikoriko cave fun.
Thank you so much Shane, Julia and Listen – via google

The lodge is located next to a beautiful stream nestled barren green scenery of hills. The hosts Julia and Shane were friendly, generous and family-like. The lady of the lodge cooked for us real hearty meals. The captain of the Sunspy, of their live-board, did a stellar job at taking us to all the good spots around the PoorKnights. The live-aboard is simple, but comfortable. Their first mate, Liston, guided us on our dives at the PoorKnights and the Canterbury, with an adventurous spirit and confidence. I felt comfortable and safe, diving and travelling on my latest dive adventure. Wifi is limited, for me that’s a good thing, since our group bonded over games, coffee and wine. All in all, had a blast. Will come again. – via google

Such a fantastic dive trip with Northland Dive. The liveaboard in the Poor Knights was amazing and then two wonderful dives on HMNZS Canterbury. Julia and Shane run a superb business and along with Liston, we had such a wonderful experience. Will be back in 2025 which is the best type of review! Shout out also for the amazing food throughout! ????????? – via google

I went on a trip for about a week with Northland Dive. I completed my Advanced Open Water Certification on the first day in the Poor Knights Islands followed by another couple of days on the liveboard, which was AMAZING! Not only was the dive itself brilliant, but also the people which came along.
After that, we stayed a couple of days in the lodge which was just as fantastic!
Thank you Northland Dive for such an awesome experience!
See you again in the near future. – via google

5.0/ 5

What a trip, you could not ask for a more professional, safe and experienced operator. I did the 3 day liveonboard on Sun Spy at the Poor Knights and a day on the former HMNZS Canterbury.
Sun Spy is the perfect size for getting around the Poor Knights with a spacious dive deck and lift to get you out of the water!!! The food excellent, like the experienced friendly crew. These guys are super knowledgeable without being controlling so we all had a great time. They offer Nitrox via a very well maintained compressor so zero gas issues. Great for technical and regular divers.
The Ribs they use as a day boats to get to the Canterbury are huge and packing some serious grunt, making trip out and back a pleasure. Lunch on shore and back to the water for a second dive made this a fabulous day on and under the water.

The generous team at Northland Dive easily get a 5 star in my book. You leave feeling like one of the family and I cannot wait to get back there. – via google

What a beautiful trip!
The diving was glorious, Lily and Sam were so friendly, helpful and fun. Julia’s cooking was definitely something to look forwards to, as was feeding the resident eels.
Will definitely have to get back there in the future! – via google

Awesome dive trip. I did an overnight out to the Poor Knights. I decided to skip a dive or too as I was so cold (underestimated my ability to stay warm – most of my diving has been in the tropics), but was sooo nice just relaxing on the boat. Definitelyrecommend heading out with Northland Dive for a Poor Knights experience. Fantastic sea life too. The night dive searching for nudibranch is fabulous!! Catered for the fussy eater (I’m vegan) and the good was great. – via google
