Volcano Boarding, eine absolut coole Aktivität. Der Aufstieg mit Brett bei relativ starkem Wind ist schon recht anstrengend und anspruchsvoll aber lohnt sich. Oben angekommen hat man einen tollen Ausblick und die Abfahrt mit dem Board macht wirklich Spaß.
Wir haben die Tour (35USD) dirket über das Volcano Hostel gebucht. Man wird dort abgeholt und zum zentralen Startpunkt (Laden inkl. Hostel & Restaurant) gebracht. Dort zahlt die zusätzliche Gebühr (5USD Eintritt Park). Nachdem man sich registriert (ID) und sein Tshirt auswählt hat, geht es dann mit dem Bus in Richtung Vulkan. Die Fahrt (ca. 1h) ist schon ein Erlebnis (Party Stimmung) und recht holprig. Am Vulkan angekommen erhält man einen Rucksack mit Schutzbrille + Anzug und das Board. Und dann geht’s an den Aufstieg (ca. 1h). Bei einer Pause bekommt man zusätzliche Infos über den Vulkan. Oben angekommen hat man ein wenig Zeit die Aussicht zu genießen. Dann folgt die Einweisung auf Englisch & Spanisch.
Man fährt anschließend einer nach dem anderen auf 4 Bahnen hinunter. Man sollte sich nicht von der Steigung abschrecken lassen, denn man kann das Tempo gut selber bestimmen.
Ein wirklich tolles Erlebnis, das wirklich Spaß macht.
Die Tour beinhaltet außerdem einen kleinen Snack (Wassermelone) und einen vegetarischen Lunch (Brot mit Avocado und versch. Gemüse + 1 Getränk), den es zurück in Leon in dem Hostel gibt.

I believe we did the 12,500 feet jump (we got certificates, I just can’t remember). Absolutely breathtaking experience – would recommend to everyone and anyone. Seems like such a scary thing to do, your nerves will be shot, especially watching the plane climb higher and higher! But once you know it is “Go-Time”, you have to just let go (literally) – we did tandem 🙂

Once at altitude, you then freefall for approximately 45 seconds before the instructor opens the main parachute.
