My brother and I spent an amazing weekend getting open water certified and loved it! The facility was awesome our instructors were cool and you could really feel the amount care that went into their training. The water visibility was stellar even with the cloudy weather! What an amazing time! If you’re looking for a place to get certified this is the place! The whole staff is welcoming and friendly. They will take their time with you making sure you’re completely comfortable and understand everything. They helped me get over hurdles I thought I couldn’t and showed me how to handle myself if I got in a sticky situation which gave me the confidence to continue! We just completed the Open Water course and this facility is top notch and highly recommended. EVERYONE we met was friendly and willing to help or answer questions. Warning, don’t bring your kids here. I asked if they could certify my 10 year old in open water diving. They said, have him take the discover class and if he does good then we will sign him up for our classes. He did great so they signed him up, took our money, had our son complete 10 hours of book work and tests, which he completed with 100%, had him do the pool dives, which he did great at, had us drive back out for more dives, and then told us when we got there that he doesn’t like certifying kids his age and sent us home. Now our son will have to completely start over since they are NAUI and other places are PADI. If they weren’t going to certify our son because of his age, then they should have told us that to begin with instead of taking our money and time, having us make the long drives, and crushing our son’s dreams. He tried so hard and loved it and has now lost hope. – via

Excellent ownership and dive instructors whose first concerns are your learning, your comfort, and your safety.
Took the PADI Open Water certification course over three days and had a blast. It’s hard to find any place that does it in the same time frame, let alone for a PADI cert and at a competitive price. The first day felt intimidating, but by the second we felt confident and capable thanks to their training. If you struggle with anything, they will gladly work with you through it.

I can’t say enough good things about this shop. The Nautical Adventures Scuba dive shop, a Certified PADI 5 Star Center, is a hidden gem on Tenkiller Lake in Cookson OK.
We are from the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and none of the dive centers in the area come close to the accommodating instruction and quality of service we experienced here. It was a 4 hour drive each way for us, and worth every mile and minute of it.
Our dive instructor, Josh Fowler, was outstanding. Ours was a small class, and Josh was very hands on, working through any and all issues until we were satisfied – this guy has knowledge far beyond his years.. There was another Josh in the class that was assisting (I hope the second Josh becomes a full time fixture soon), and between the two Josh’s, we completed our open water diver course, with two sessions in their very accommodating pool, and then the 5 open water dives in beautiful Lake Tenkiller. Wow – what an experience, what an adventure.
Tim Knight, owner and dive guru/sensei, really went the extra mile helping me get the basic scuba gear. Their selection of equipment is top of the line, and Tim took the time to explain features and benefits – as Tim puts it, they only sell what they dive. I got out of there with quality equipment that will surely outlast me. My new BCD is the best fit I have ever experienced – could not be more pleased.
I’m heading back there in September to get the Advanced Open Water Diver – and I can’t wait.
I would recommend anyone looking to start diving, or looking for a place to dive and pick up some quality dive equipment, to give Nautical Adventures Scuba in Cookson OK a close look. I am confident you would not be in the least disappointed. – via

I’m a first time diver. They are very patient and help you work through anything you don’t understand. Our teacher has an extensive knowledge of different situations and scenarios that could happen underwater. He helps prepare you for the just in case situation. Also they have some nice cabins located right next to their shop within walking distance. My husband and myself will be back next year for our advanced open water class. Highly recommend this place.
