Extremely nice resort, but would proceed with caution. Absolutely amazing views, and for the most part a lovely staff. Macayla, Victoria, James, and Ethan were some of the nicest people I have met in my time in Australia; genuine and caring people. However, Mayka and Francesca are not quite the same. Mayka is difficult and will always find an argument to make anything seem like your fault, even as guest. Francesca simply is not welcoming and has an attitude whenever you order drinks (she works at the bar). I had a wonderful stay and would’ve certainly rated 5 stars, but Mayka truly made the difference. I would still suggest spending time here, but try to avoid those two if possible. – via

Lizard Island is simply a great island. The hike to Cooks Lookout in the early morning is scenic and gives a good overview of the island.
Watson Bay with its coral garden and turtles is recommended for snorkelling. Also very nice corals on the east side of the bay.
Very good dive centre at the resort. The outer reef dives are great, especially to the Cod hole. Inside reef dives are better left out. – via

My wife and I stayed 4 days at this marvelous place. Beauty of the island merges with its landscapes, beaches and fauna. Turtles become your friends when swimming and diving.
Also, special shout to the staff, amazing young, polite, friendly and great professionals. Our Spain and latam colleagues made us feel like home.
This is a must-visit place in Australia!! – via

Lizard Island is truly a slice of paradise on earth. Just wished we had booked an extra night longer. We chose a beachfront room on the advice of the very helpful phone booking personnel, and we couldn’t be happier with our spacious and well appointed room, the location, and the amazing views of the Coral Sea from the verandah. Our flight times were also provided to maximise our time on Lizard Island – ie getting in early and getting out last. There are also lots of activities from the resort, namely the diving, snorkelling, PADI dive courses etc. the one thing that I’ll recommend the resort doing, is the activities calendar being made known – either being listed on your website or provided to visitors upon confirmation of bookings, as we weren’t made aware of the outer reef dive trip which did not coincide with the days we were staying on the island. Likewise the Turtle Tour. If we had known- we would have extended our stay another day longer. But I’d have to say that, kudos to the dive guide, Emma – she was a fantastic guide to our Inner Reef dive trip. The pre-dive briefing was excellent, and she checked on all of us frequently underwater (excellent!) and pointed out interesting sealife. The drop off service to Mermaid’s Cove is a big highlight on the island, as the snorkelling was fantastic. Lots of healthy hard corals and all sorts of fishes and lots of Green Turtles.
Now onto the food. What more can I say. Every day has a different breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, and the food was just delicious. Even our packed lunch hamper for the dinghy out to Watson’s Beach was well taken care of. Yum!
Unlike many tourist destinations and luxury resorts that are ticked off and never to be seen again, Lizard Island is one that I am looking forward to returning one day. One day, hopefully in the same beautiful room I’m now typing this. Thank you for the wonderful and memorable trip out to a slice of paradise. – via
