Take some lessons— schedule early!
— if this was helpful give me a thumbs up at the end please
– Received great instruction. FYI I’ve taken lessons on South Padre Island/ Air Padre, Lake Michigan / Stoke Rider’s and here at Kite Roatan.
-Jr, did a great job (similar to the US). He provided education, safety checks, did not move you on if you weren’t skill ready. Loved that Jr was patient, payed attention to technique, provided quick feedback, didn’t baby you (not a sport for being babied). Gave me tips I had not had before which were super helpful.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
– Boat chaser (see pic) follows you during your lesson for safety and assistance.
-This is a sweet little boutique style resort with accommodations that are off the grid! Not fancy – more like a surfers hang out. Not overwrought with guests and totally relaxed atmosphere. Be prepared to unwind and slow down to island life! ☮️
– there were paddle boards and kayaks on site, and there may be scuba diving coming soon – be sure to ask (I dove with Subway)
– Safe environment ( I’m a single female traveler)
-Yoga and massage options onsite ( but I didn’t use)
-Different types of rooms available from angles to rooms with kitchenettes
– the landscape and grounds are serene and quite! Love how they groomed the trees for a natural look- very inviting!
-Restaurant is open air. The food was flavorful, cooked fresh.and reasonably priced (Lobster 28$, red snapper and grouper16$)
– Hammocks available to wait for the wind/relax. There is no pool but the natural beach is very nice
– Chris and his wife (owners) were engaging, conversational, accommodating, and responsive! Really wanted your experience to be a good one.
-Nessa the waitress was a doll, the chef was happy and kept things orderly!
– be prepared to communicate with email and WhatsAp, cellphone calls are not so great.
– Wifi worked great, I believe it’s fiber optic
-FYI it’s off a long gravel road, and Michael Douglas owns grounds and beach front next door.
-Camp Bay is not near enough to walk into town— you will have to get a Taxi or rental (Chris has people he can recommend). – via

I came to Roatan from Hawaii to visit friends. Took a day trip up from the West side to Camp Bay Lodge and rented kiteboarding equipment. The location and accommodations are absolutely incredible. Chris and staff are great. I highly recommend this kite school to anyone looking for a great kiteboarding vacation whether you’re just learning or already know how to kite and want to do it in a place that is special. – via
