We was unable to get into Airlie via plane or coach or car due to flooding in and out of Airlie, which meant we couldnt attend the clipper, which was completely out of our control. We felt customer service wasnt great in supporting this situation they just stated we would have to go through travel insurance to get money back as the boat is still departing. We asked for a voucher as we’d still like to attend another time which they refused and stated it’s rainy season this is what happens at times, we wasn’t asking for a refund just a voucher. One woman was quite patronising on the phone and we felt like once they have you’re money they don’t care and you just have to deal with it. This service should have more options available when the situation is out of your control. – via

Horrendous! Do not go with this terrible company! Less than 24 hours before our planned trip, 2d and 2n on their Powerplay boat, with us having flown up from Sydney to QLD that morning, I received this email from Rachel, the reservations manager at this company: “Good Afternoon Adrian, Due to some unexpected maintenance, we have unfortunately had to cancel tomorrow’s departure on Powerplay.” Did Rachel offer us a different boat? No. Did Rachel offer us a full refund? No. Rachel just said change the date or go talk to your travel agent but they may take an administrative fee so you might not get all your money back. Terrible service and terrible company. Look elsewhere. – via

We went with Kiana boat which I thought we will be more outer reef and get some nice diving spots. But we just went to hook island and dive was most horrible dive I ever done. We spend 2 days from one side of island to the other side.
The only good thing about the trip was the veg option was delicious but unfortunately except for first night any other meal was not sufficient. Not enough snacks and no BYO. The drink options were very limited. Very cheap options for drinks which I never gets any of those cheap drinks.
Only black tea option, and I had to ask for soy milk everytime I make tea and coffee.
I felt I was back in school, keep telling me what I can do and what I can’t. To many rules and did not feel relaxed or enjoyy time at all.
Give yourself a favour and just go with another boat. – via
