I am very happy that I managed to come across Oceanic Dive Center while being in Phuket.

Rachel, with whom I did 7 dives, turned out to be a great instructor with a lot of experience. Not only did I complete 3 SSI specialty courses with her, but I also received a lot of important and meaningful tips on equipment, proper weighting and buoyancy skills. Thanks to her individual approach and full dedication to the student, tailored exercises and no rush, our one to one dives were the longest I have ever done.

I regret that my vacation in Thailand is over and that I could not take more courses with Rachel. Apart from diving, I also had a great chance to listen to her beautiful British accent with a pinch of British humor, which I love! I sincerely recommend this training center to everyone, as they practice a truly individual approach to their students, not a factory type of customer service aimed at large turnover. – via google

Oceanic Dive Center is an excellent choice if you find yourself in Phuket and want to get your open water certification, or just head out for some fun dives.
They have a wealth of experience, are calm and patient teachers and the equipment is all great quality and very well maintained.

My husband and I were taking an Open Water Diver course with Rachel. Even though we had done around 10 dives before the course without certification, we learned a lot. Now, I feel much safer and more confident to dive. Rachel ensured our confidence by guiding us through all the exercises required by the course. She answered our questions, providing enough details. Diving with Rachel was a lot of fun. if there was something underwater worth our attention, we would pause the exercises and enjoy the dive. – via google

I didn’t have much hope when I came by Oceanic Divers office on Xmas Eve. Previous dive shops I contacted told me all boats were booked on Xmas Day. After listening to me and hearing that I just got my advanced diver license a few days prior, Rachel contacted one of the operators who amazingly had 1 spot remaining on the boat with just 10 divers. I wasn’t disappointed. I saw the most amount and variety of marine life I ever saw in 1 day. Plus the divemaster took awesome videos and photos, uploaded them up on Google Photos and shared a link. Kata Scuba were able to book me in last minute for a day trip the very next day. I booked a day diving tour which included 3 dives to different sites – Phi Phi Leh, Koh Bida Nok, and Shark Point. I was lucky to have a guide just for me who was an amazing guide underwater and extremely friendly and helpful. We were lucky enough to see sharks, turtle, sting ray, barracuda, sea snake, and much more!!
The boat crew were also super friendly and helpful, and provided food and snacks throughout the day!!

We booked a day on board a dive boat because I wanted my girlfriend to experience scuba. We were well looked after, the kit all worked, and the instructor was competent. The dives were ok for a beginner.
I feel that paying $300 for this was too expensive. And hence my lower rating.
I felt severely embarrassed when we were asked to pay tips at the end of the day. Where I come from, $300 will pay for 2 weeks in a hotel and most people earn about $200 a month. So to be asked for even more money put me in a very embarrassing position. The people were good, the service was ok. But we can’t afford to throw more money away. We’re not rich. – via google
