As soon as you arrive you can breathe ELEGANCE, the courteous and trained staff welcomes you in a spacious, fresh and well-kept reception, while offering you refreshment and explaining all the hotel dynamics, timetables and more in a whisper. The smile of the staff boys accompanies you throughout the holiday, the friendliness, but also the marked professionalism. We will take away the memory of the kindness of Freddy in the dining room, of Tipa at the bar, of Martin who is very good with cocktails, of Raphael and Ester at Le Grand Bleu, of Dorcas and all those who made our holiday unforgettable.
EXCELLENT and varied food, you don’t find the same thing twice, the raw materials are of quality and cooked very well, the proposal is varied and as a highlight there are two evenings that take place in a real Masai village, you have dinner outdoors, entertained by Masai dances or by local artists, they eat typical Swahili cuisine cooked to order, including bread of unique goodness.
IMPECCABLE cleanliness, and it was just having spent a few days outside that made us appreciate Karafuu even more. Despite being in a tropical country and nature reigns supreme (another very positive note) the rooms are spotless, there are no insects to disturb our dreams and although the buffet restaurant is basically surrounded by nature, there are no flies on the food , which we have found elsewhere. You forget you are in Africa.
Animation present and unobtrusive, we appreciated it very much, if you want to have fun they are there, if you want to be in peace they won’t disturb you.
Two notes of EXCELLENCE are the poolside ice cream parlor where the ice cream is made fresh with Italian recipes and machinery with locally grown fruit, and the a la carte restaurant Le Grand Bleu, essentially a cantilevered terrace overlooking the Indian Ocean where you can eat impeccably cooked fresh fish. Both for the ice cream and for the dinner at the Gran Bleu we went far beyond our expectations.
The quality of the materials is also guaranteed by the fact that walking around the resort we discovered that they have a vegetable garden where they grow fruit and vegetables, crazy, other than Km 0.
Another positive note, the resort is practically Plastic Free and there is a particular care for the environment, highly appreciated and not at all obvious, if you want fresh water you can call the reception at any time and someone will bring you a nice iced glass bottle.
Very nice spa and reasonable prices, for lovers of relaxation enjoying a massage overlooking the ocean rather than in the usual underground bunkers will be a pleasant surprise. We liked it a lot.
And finally, the pool and the beach, the clear waters speak for themselves, the pools with swimup bars are beautiful and very comfortable, drink your drinks directly in the pool and each of them has its own charm, both in the Masai area and in the in the Bondeni area (don’t leave without having tasted the delicious pizza from the Pizzeria in the Bondeni area), the towel service with the card is very convenient, but another noteworthy refinement is the walkway which, emerging at low tide, allows you to bathe in the deep water at any time of the day.

Abbiamo soggiornato in questa splendida struttura per circa due settimane, con un piccolo break di qualche giorno per visitare altre parti dell’isola, ed é proprio l’esperienza fuori dal Karafuu che ci ha fatto apprezzare ulteriormente il posto.
Appena arrivati si respira ELEGANZA, il personale cortese e preparato ti accoglie in una reception spaziosa, fresca e ben curata, mentre ti offre refrigerio e ti spiega sottovoce tutte le dinamiche alberghiere, orari e quant’altro. Il sorriso dei ragazzi del personale ti accompagna per tutta la vacanza, la cordialità, ma anche la spiccata professionalità. Porteremo via il ricordo della gentilezza di Freddy in sala, di Tipa al bar, di Martin bravissimo coi cocktails, di Raphael e Ester al Le Grand Bleu, di Dorcas e tutti coloro che hanno reso la nostra vacanza indimenticabile.
Cibo OTTIMO e vario, non trovi due volte la stessa cosa, le materie prime sono di qualità e cucinate benissimo, la proposta é variegata e come fiore all’occhiello ci sono due serate che si svolgono in un vero e proprio villaggio Masai, si cena all’aperto intrattenuti dalle danze Masai o da artisti locali mangiano la cucina tipica Swahili cucinata espressa, compreso il pane di una bontà unica.
Pulizia INECCEPIBILE, ed é stato proprio l’aver passato qualche giorno fuori ad averci fatto apprezzare ancora di più il Karafuu. Nonostante si trovi in un paese tropicale e la natura regni sovrana (altra nota molto positiva) le camere sono pulitissime, non ci sono insetti a disturbare i nostri sogni e nonostante il ristorante a buffet sia sostanzialmente circondato dalla natura, non ci sono mosche sul cibo, cosa che invece abbiamo riscontrato altrove. Ti dimentichi di essere in Africa.
Animazione presente e poco invadente, noi l’abbiamo apprezzata tantissimo, se vuoi divertirti ci sono, se vuoi stare in tranquillità non ti disturbano.
Due note d’ECCELLENZA sono la gelateria a bordo piscina dove il gelato viene fatto fresco con ricette e macchinari italiani con la frutta coltivata nel posto, ed il ristorante a la carte Le Grand Bleu, sostanzialmente una terrazza a sbalzo sull’oceano Indiano dove mangiare pesce fresco cucinato in maniera impeccabile. Sia per il gelato che per la cena al Gran Bleu siamo andati ben oltre le aspettative.
La qualità delle materie é garantita anche dal fatto che girando per il resort abbiamo scoperto che hanno un orto dove coltivano frutta e verdura, pazzesco, altro che Km 0.
Altra nota positiva, il resort é praticamente Plastic Free é c’é una cura particolare per l’ambiente, apprezzatissimo e per niente scontato, se vuoi acqua fresca puoi chiamare a qualsiasi ora la reception e qualcuno ti porterà una bella bottiglia di vetro ghiacciata.
Spa molto carina e prezzi contenuti, per gli amanti del relax godersi un massaggio affacciati sull’oceano piuttosto che nei soliti bunker sotterranei sarà una piacevole sorpresa. A noi é piaciuta molto.
E per finire, piscina e spiaggia, le acque limpide si commentano da sole, le piscine con gli swimup bars sono bellissime e comodissime, bevi i tuoi drink direttamente in piscina ed ognuna di esse ha il suo fascino, sia quella della zona Masai che quella della zona Bondeni (non partite senza aver assaggiato la pizza della Pizzeria nella zona Bondeni, squisita), il servizio asciugamano con la card é comodissimo, ma altra finezza degna di nota é la passerella che emergendo con la bassa marea permette di farsi un bagno nell’acqua fonda in ogni momento della giornata.
Esperienza personale da consigliare assolutamente, tutto il resort gira come un orologio a ritmo di professionalità e cortesia, ci mancheranno I loro sorrisi e la loro cortesia, assolutamente da ripetere. Grazie KarafuuMostra meno
