This epic, diamond studded 500 million gold star review is three jumps late. Shame on me, but I blame the dazzling, skydiving induced endorphins! I’m so happy I decided to try skydiving! I’ve been a scaredy-cat all my life, and at 60 and counting, I’m fed up with fear. My most inconvenient fear – technophobia – is what got me into skydiving. Ridiculous reason, but I reached a point where I decided I could either smash my computer with a hammer (Nope!) or do something genuinely terrifying to snap myself out of it. So, I called an adventurous friend, and off we went to Kapowsin. It was Fantastic! The Cool Dudes at Kapowsin (I’m talking Cool – think Top Gun cool ) are top notch. They’re super-professional, friendly and experts at instilling confidence and fun into the whole experience. I’ve been 3 times now – all tandem – and I plan to go again. It is the most spectacular experience! The rush of air while you’re free-falling tricks your brain into thinking you’re being held, supported, not plummeting at all, and it seems perfectly normal – and enormous fun – to see your cameraman floating around midair with you. Nothing to worry about! . The only bothersome part of skydiving for me is that my mouth dries out up there, so amid the fun and sheer coolness of the experience, I find myself thinking mundane things like, “Wish I’d brought a Chapstick,” or “Man, I’d kill for a glass of water!” (If anyone has any tips on how to avoid dry-sky-mouth, please bring ’em on!). Anyway, if you’re toying with the idea of going skydiving, have at it with these dudes! You’ll have the experience of a lifetime and, even if you’re a dork like me, you’ll come away feeling a little wisp of their Cool hanging onto you. A few more tandem jumps and I might feel cool enough to go solo! Thank you Cool Kapowsin Dudes! I’m still technophobic but I’ve had the time of my life with you! .
