We made reservations about a month before we came to Jost van Dyke because we were going to be there the week between Christmas and New Years. We were greeted nicely and it was explained to us that our 9am charter would be pushed back about an hour because they had to help someone out with a taxi situation from USVI. It was totally understandable and we would much rather deal with a company that steps up and helps people out in a bind. We started our private catamaran charter out an hour later with Nyk and it was so great! He was polite, professional and fun! He customized our day to exactly what we wanted which was beach bars, some snorkeling and relaxation! It could not have been a better day!! Our favorite part was seeing Sandy Spit..we swam to the island while Nyk waited for us offshore. We walked around, enjoyed the amazing 360 degree views and breathed the salty air!! Thank you Jost van Dyke Scuba for a great experience!!

My wife and I chartered a day trip to The Baths and Virgin Gorda, Norman Island, and snorkeling at various areas around the BVI. We can’t recommend these guys enough to people and Captain Nyk offered a once in a lifetime experience. The price was fair with the inclusion of gas and a tip. It’s such an incredible and unique experience to have a local show you around all the best and isolated spots rather than most companies around here hiring from the US, and you can tell the people of JVD Scuba have a tremendous amount of respect and care for what they do. – via google

We cannot recommend enough!! My husband and I did a full day private boat charter with captain Nyk. It was easily the best day of our vacation. He took us to the Baths and around some awesome scuba spots in Virgin Gorda, and helped us spot turtles in Great Harbour. A lot of boat captains in the BVI aren’t locals and don’t respect the local environment or people. But the captains at JVD Scuba are amazing at what they do and ensure their guests have a great time. – via google

It was the best day of our Vacation by far! My wife and I, booked a day charter with Alex and we still can’t stop talking about it! Alex guided our boat to Sandy Spit, the Bath’s and ended up with a fabulous lunch in the North Sound. The day was perfect as we even ran into the Rum Runner on the way back to JVD. Alex was personable, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the islands, and we can’t wait to book another trip with him! – via google

Unbelievable service and kindness. Capt. Colin organized everything for a seamless experience. We landed at STT and didn’t have to think. Land taxi was waiting for us, took us to our water taxi, and water taxi direct to JVD customs check in, then over to our villa’s dock! Capt. Nykolas on the water taxi was phenomenal. Gave us lots of information about the islands and helped us quickly navigate any customs checkpoints to/from USVI-BVI. We also took a private day charter with Captain Alex to The Baths and other islands. So kind, knowledgeable and safe! Great company to do business with. I’m a hotel/restaurant executive in the states and cannot give these guys enough praise for how they service the needs of their guests! To put the icing on the cake, they have an awesome shop on Jost as well. Bought several souvenirs to hold me over until we get back to Jost! – via google

Yeah….have been diving with Jost van Dyke scuba twice, now. Both times were awesome experiences!

1st, JVDS has the best merchandise! Great quality stuff, always. We bought lots.

Shout out to Rebecca for informing us of dive trip availability. We jumped at the opportunity immediately. She’s awesome.

Alex and Glen….many thanks for the great experience at Great Tobago and the Pirates Purchase wreck off JVD. I have some great GoPro footage, and thank you Alex for the red filter loan!

We’ll definitely be back as the dive trips at JVD are always the highlight of cruising the BVI.

TLDR: Go somewhere else for scuba or charter/boating needs.

We used JVD Scuba to book two two-tank dives for 4 of our group and a 7-hour catamaran trip for our entire 11-person group, well ahead of our visit in December 2022. Our first day of diving was at Great Thatch and our other day of diving was over near Sandy Spit. The Sandy Spit trip was rather choppy, but we still had a good time. Alex, who guided all of our dives was fantastic – friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, pro-safety, and full of interesting facts and stories about BVI.

Our catamaran trip was marked down on Colin’s calendar for the wrong day, so when he realized it was written down wrong he told us our trip had to be cut shorter than originally planned because he needed the boat back for a water taxi. The morning of, there was communication about confusion with the boat, but Colin assured us “This will UNDOUBTEDLY be the best day of anyone’s vacation who comes on the charter!!!! Guaranteed.” and “The weather is perfect and the boat is ready.” After boating through some of the choppiest water I’ve ever experienced (5ft swells), we reached Norman Island where we spent a few hours snorkeling. We were very disappointed we weren’t able to do the majority of things we had planned for our boat route due to timing and conditions – The Baths, Monkey Point, The Indians, and Manchioneel Bay (all things Colin claimed in advance could be done in a day trip if we hustle), but we still made the best of our experience at Norman Island.

My stars in this review go solely to Colin’s staff, especially Alex for diving; not Colin, who himself is conceited and smug. We experienced challenges with Colin regarding communication, and my interactions and experiences with JVD Scuba did not live up to my expectations in any way. While he “guaranteed” our charter day would be the best, our group would agree it was easily the most stressful and challenging of our time on Jost Van Dyke. While Jost Van Dyke is a GREAT island and I would highly recommend visiting it, I would never recommend going here or through Colin. – via google

We could not have had a better experience getting open water certified with Jost Van Dyke Scuba. Alex was a fantastic instructor and made the transition to open water easy and simple. We had a few members in our group on the younger side ( ages 11-21) and he was very patient and understanding with them. He made a certification and learning experience really fun. They made every effort to accommodate our group. Could not recommend a better place for a fantastic diving experience! Also Captain Colin fit us in at the last minute close to New Years which was above and beyond!

We had a family of 18 go to JVD for a week. It was the most amazing week ever! If you go you MUST take a Boat Trip with Colin, Alex and Laura at JVD Scuba. They are truly amazing and we learned so much about the BVI’s from them. They were professional as well as personal.
