The best surf school, bar none! Sam has turned me from a regular guy to an amazing surfer! Group or private lessons, both give you that one-on-one feel. The girl that handles booking, Christa, is very nice as well. Thank you! – via

I’m a beginner surfer and I took a class here under the recommendation of a friend. To start off with the positive, the lead instructors at the Spring Lake location were helpful and engaging. I got useful tips from them during the session and felt like they were paying attention to how the students were doing. However the other two instructors seemed uninterested in teaching and preferred to talk about drinking. Overall ok but weird experience – via

I have completed several lessons from the Hammersurfschool,& was Very pleased with everything about this business.I had Luke as my instructor ,& He was excellent! He was timely, calm , & confident in my ability to get up on the board & ride the waves.. which was accomplished several rimes. He is Great! .. & totally professional! I really looked forward to my lessons as I saw progress in my abilities with excellent coaching. Luke is the BEST! Also, the office was very efficient in calling or emailing me about appointments or changes. I would recommend this school to anyone seeking to learn how to surf! This has been & hope to continue an awesome experience. Thank You for adding joy to my life ‍♀️ – via

Me and my friend just took an adult class and had zero experience ever surfing…let me tell you…we had a great experience, learning quick from the staff and had a ton of fun! They want you to do well and have fun. Good energy and vibes during this class! – via

Hammer surf school is amazing! It was my first time surfing and they got me catching waves immediately. I even caught a couple on my own! I had signed up for the Adult lesson at Spring Lake and the instructor to student ratio was awesome; my friend and I basically had one instructor to ourselves. They provided everything we needed including wetsuits and surfboards. The staff seemed a bit burnt out and tired because they didn’t have any time off but they were still very helpful and nice. I had such a good time so it was unfortunate the instructors weren’t as excited to be out there.

Overall, it was an amazing 10/10 experience. Planning to go back the next time I’m in the area! – via
