Have taken 2 tours with Living Oceans now and both have been 5 star experiences. Clean boats and professional crew make for a wonderful experience. We went on a sunset cruise but there was too much cloud cover so the captain turned it into more of a whale watching adventure. We were able to see several whale families and had a great time. Will definitely be back for other tours. – via

The staff are knowledgeable/friendly. But please be careful buying gear from them. When I got my regulator serviced less than a year after purchasing from their quarterly rental sale, it needed a lot of repair from dry rot and corrosion in the stages. Very minimal usage and proper cleaning on my end. Makes me believe that I was sold dangerously worn out equipment. – via

Purchased scuba diving equipment last year from this shop. 11 months later an unauthorized purchase was made on my credit card. I inquired with the shop and was ignored. Last month another unauthorized purchase, this time a shop worker tried to assist but was intervened to assist further by the general manager Mike Agee. Thankfully another worker provided me with the invoice of the purchase beforehand. I contacted the individual on the invoice and turns out he paid cash for the item i was charged for. The shop double charged for the item. The individual also went into the shop on my behalf and explained the situation. I was reimbursed for one purchase (thanks to store staff), but Mike Agee had no clue this had happened and had no interest in helping me in the first place, nor did he make any effort to reimburse the remaining owed amounts. Shame on Mike & his pitiful customer service & attitude! Thankfully there are still some good natured people in the world that try to make a wrong a right. My credit card # ended up on multiple accounts at Honolulu Scuba Company & the shop made charges on it, they also weren’t honest about validating identification prior to processing the card. I don’t normally make an issue, but when the GM of a company takes zero responsibility of his own company’s fault, that’s where I draw the line! I tried a couple times to explain but he had no interest. Beware allowing HSC to responsibly take care and control of your credit card information, because Mike Agee will most definitely not assist! – via

I had a great experience with Ryan while I was searching for snorkel gear! I have never gone before, and Ryan was very knowledgeable and patient and explained all the different features and different pricings. I was able to find high quality gear within my budget and he even gave me general tips about snorkeling and advice on best places to go for beginners. The gear is really high quality and fairly priced, and the service was awesome. Will definitely be going back if I decide to try scuba or need any additional ocean gear. – via

My wife had an issue with her scuba class and her state of readiness.
Delani was a top-notch of help and very knowledgeable. My wife had started taking the dive class. She found the course to be beyond her abilities and comfort.
We left after the pool session and returned to speak with someone from the Honolulu Scuba shop, not the dive boat register. Huge difference!
By the time my wife finished speaking with Delani, her willingness returned. We are going to spend some time snorkeling more with my wife reviewing the course materials. We will then book a smaller, slower paced course. Brilliant!!
I am a trained rescue diver who wanted my wife certified vs. resort course visit. As we have been here for several months, she will have the chance to keep working at her skill sets.
I am extremely thankful that we ended up speaking with Delani. We walked in with my wife, having lost all hope of diving, to leaving with a new student ready to learn.
Thank you again, Honolulu Scuba, Delani has been a true educator and staff person. She’s a real asset to hopeful divers everywhere.

Knowledgeable staff but beware of getting your gear serviced here, they use vague language in the service contract to sneak in additional charges after. I disputed the charge at pick up, they fixed it, then called me back two days later to demand more money. I declined to pay the extra charges and they said I’d never dive with them again and “good luck finding anywhere cheaper.” I’d happily pay more for an honest shop. If they’re happy to lose a customer for life over $40, so be it. ‍♂️ – via
