I recently completed my Advanced Open Water dive certification at Haliotis. Victor was our instructor throughout the course, and Pedro was the boat operator. Both Vistor and Pedro were amazing to work with and were able to adjust their instruction to varying levels of divers on our course. We all had an amazing time, and Victor knew the dive locations so well that we were able to see a vast expanse of wildlife and different rock formations, whic made the course that much better. We eneded up choosing this dive centre for our Advance Open Water course because of the reviews online, and the speed at which they got back to us when we inquired about the course. I would highly recommend that anyone that is travelling to Maderia that is looking to advance their skills as a diver or simply looking to do some recreational diving that they look up Haliotis. All of the equipment was in very good shape, and I felt comfortable using their equipment, which allowed me to not have to travel with any of my diving gear. – via

Superbe matinée !
Nous avions un planning assez chargé avec peu de disponibilité pour plonger, mais Victor le responsable a tout fait pour nous arranger !
Rita notre guide et Pedro le capitaine nous ont vraiment bien accueilli ! De bon conseils sur les plongées et sur les randonnées a faire sur l île aussi 😉
Nous avons fait 2 plongées : 1 derivante et 1 sur une montagne sous-marine les deux sites étaient vraiment sympa!
Un très beau banc de gros barracuda , poulpes, murènes
, et beaucoup de vie….
Une très bonne équipe qui prends soin de ses clients !

I recently did my Advanced Open Water Course with Victor at Haliotis. All of the team were very welcoming and were keen to accommodate me with flexible dates throughout my week in Madeira. The equipment was in good condition and the facilities available were clean and tidy throughout. Great diving school. I did my Open water diver here and I can only recommend it to 100%. Especially as I was struggling at the beginning, but at the end I still managed to get my certification. Victor is very patient, calm and friendly. He gives you all the time you need and you always feel completely save under water with him. In general, everyone there is super friendly and nice. The equipment is good, the pool is close and the dive spots are nice and near by. – via

My partner and I did the PADI Open Water Diving course at Haliotis on Madeira. Diving felt quite out of my comfort zone and I wasn’t really sure if diving was for me. At our first meeting with our diving instructor Victor, I mentioned this for transparency. Over the next few days, he transformed me into a big fan of diving. During the pool sessions, I was able to get comfortable with the equipment and breathing techniques. Thanks to Victor’s patience, I was able to perform the practical exam quite confidently and am looking forward to my next diving adventures.
I can heavily recommend Haliotis on Madeira to learn diving!
The diving school is located nearby the hotel pool which makes logistics super simple. When it’s rather cold, you will love the warm showers! 🙂 The diving spots at the shore are just a few minutes away. – via
