We did the moonshine sunset cruise. Our guide, Santos is such an interesting person full of knowledge and passion for his work. We went out on a rainy day and still got to see some birds and the volcano as well as just learn a whole lot. Due to the weather we didn’t set a sunset but didn’t mind at all as it was just good vibes overall. The pineapple salsa served was on point and the moonshine drink was just as yummy. Being on the lake and getting close to the volcano is just stunning beyond words. We would of kept hanging out with Santos and picking his brain if we could. We would of loved to be on the water all day long. Simply beautiful – via

So, when you’re told you should get a guide because they know more about the process than you? Yes, yes you should and Desafio should be THAT guide. We booked a tour way back when in 2016 with Desafio and they were so good that when we returned to Arenal we booked again with Desafio. This time, we booked the Sunset Cruise and it was a great experience. Mauro, our guide was hilarious and had a ton of local knowledge. He’s obviously passionate about Arenal and his work. When we come back, I will not hesitate to book another tour with Desafio. – via

My family and I visited La Fotuna Costa Rica in December/January and we couldn’t be happier with Desafio Adventure Company. The tour guides were professional and the transportation was prompt and took us to our destination without any issues. The buses pick you up at your hotel and drop you off the same day. It was stress free!
We did several tours including the Arenal combo (hanging bridges, volcano hike, and waterfall). The tour guides take the time to explain about the local wildlife and various landscapes. They are passionate about what they do. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great way to see Costa Rica.

We recently participated in the kayaking and stand up paddle boarding activity in Lake Arenal with Desafio. We had such an amazing experience, which included an impromptu stop to spot a sleeping sloth en route to the lake! Our guide for the day was Otto, who made this activity one of our most memorable – he was informative, funny and helpful throughout (and we even had the pleasure of listening to his beautiful singing at the end!).
