This is worth every cent. What an incredible experience. I thought it would be very adrenaline packed, but it’s so serene up there.
Our pilot was Shane, who has 33 years of experience all over the world. He made sure to stay low so we could spot all the animals. He also regularly twirled the balloon to ensure everyone had equal 360 shots.
The breakfast was truly excellent as well (the usual), plus an omelette station, plus delicious hash browns and fresh avo mixed with pico de gallo! Yum.
Something very interesting: Usually in Kenya, upon landing (seated and seatbelt fastened), the basket tips over due to speed, so you finish the ride on your back (on the ground), looking up at the sky. Shane said our basket was the first one all season that managed a standing landing because we were going slow enough. We had to lean back to ensure the basket didn’t tip last minute!
Pro tip: the basket is a rectangle, and inside that rectangle is an additional four rectangles (one on each corner). My suggestion is to climb in the basket LAST, so you manage to snag a corner. Obviously, those closest to the flame (the inside) have the smaller picture taking window, versus a corner. – via

Pure magic!!
A must do activity in the Maasai Mara. There’s nothing like moving with the wind in a hot air balloon. The pilots, Alex and Mervin are super professional and are dedicated to customer satisfaction. The flight takes guests above the Mara, seeing the landscape and the animals. The champagne breakfast is also wonderful. Recommended! – via
