It was interesting seeing the history here. It was my first visit and I was told to make sure to see certain things. Including whee George, Martha and other relatives are buried, but that part was closed. Also they said to sit on the rockers on the back porch and that was also closed. Just like any other tourist attraction food and drinks are very expensive. – via

History teaches so much about Washington as a General and Statesman. A visit to Mt. Vernon shows you so much about the side of him we don’t learn about; how he lived his private life.
