Esperienza super positiva! La camera aveva 10 posti letto ed era pulitissima. Ho sempre trovato puliti anche bagni e docce. Mi sono fermato una notte perché il giorno dopo avevo il volo. L’aeroporto è a 5 minuti di tuk tuo. Super consigliato! – via

The Flying Fish Hostel is a stylish and spacious Hostel located in a pleasant and safe area of Dumaguete City. It’s a short tricycle ride to the airport, downtown and the ferry terminal. The dorms are comfortable with individual lights and power plugs and the mattresses are comfortable. Aircon works well. There were no privacy curtains so I improvised my own. The Palmitas Restaurant within the compound serves a varied upscale menu. The WiFi was fast and reliable for us digital nomads. Yes, there is road noise from Hibbard but nowhere as noisy as Manila or Cebu City. Bring mozzie spray if sitting outside. – via

Worst sleep I’ve ever had in my life.

My partner and I stayed in their “private deluxe room” located in the groundfloor and it felt like we could hear everything happening around the hostel. The walls are paper thin. The ceiling is made of wood so you hear everyone’s footsteps from the dorms above.

For the same price, I would STRONGLY recommend to stay somewhere else. The rooms are decrepit and the windows can’t even be closed properly — anyone can just open them from the outside. Horrible horrible place for people who want privacy and a peaceful night of sleep.

The only 2 pros I can say about this place are the location (near the port and the airport) and the shower heater. That’s it. Nothing else. Go stay in another place. – via

I love this place. Stayed here for 4 nights in the double deluxe room. The design and decor is on point. Great service and lots of space, in room and communal areas. Palmitas restaurant attached is fire and all the best restaurants in Duma are within walking distance. Best nightlife is nearby as well. Highly recommend. However, I noticed dorms don’t have curtains, so beware of that… – via

I genuinely am happy with our stay here at this hostel, staffs are amazingly kind and provides good service, the place is very near to the places we went to so it was very accessible. Met amazing people traveller from the hostel too. So if you guys are looking for an accommodation when visiting the city then might as well have your stay here. I can only warmly recommend this hostel to everyone! The rooms and the rest are very clean and there is enough space in the rooms to store everything.
But I would particularly like to highlight the staff. They tried very hard to make you feel good and it was great to have conversations! -via

Great customer service but the rooms (since I stayed in two rooms) are a bit off. The bathroom is just okay (2/5). The light in our first room which is the “Sumilon” room is really dim. It’s like sleeping in a cave. Price is alright for the stay.

If you’re looking for a place to leave your stuff and roam around the city, then this is the right place. But if you want to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing place to stay, I do not recommend it here. – via

Very professional guide, Tons of knowledge and determination when it comes to finding fish.He is not afraid to work to find the fish and uses the latest electronics to locate and target trophy sized cats. Very humble and respectful man and showed a lot of patience toward my 10 year old son. Top notch and I highly recommend Chuck Jarvis!!!!! – via

Chuck Jarvis is a extremely good guy and one of the most skilled Guides I have ever met. We fished a full day trip to learn more about fishing in big water and he showed us that! He was not hesitant to show us and tell us his tactics and put us on big fish!!! Great time and I would highly recommend him!!! – via

I had a great time with Captain Chuck. This was a trip I’ll always remember. My first fish today was my personal best at 82 pounds. Then, 10 minutes later, I broke my new record with a whopping 92 pounder. Captain Chuck knows where the fish are and works non stop to put his clients on fish. Thanks for an awesome day! – via

We did the 12hr all night fishing captian chuck was great i had a great time i landed to nice size fish a 36 lb and a fish awsome 44lder total of 8 or 9 cats my brother caught 5 that where around 20 lbs we would like to see some bigger number but you cant control witch fish wants to bite. Our wifes hads a good time and i would say they enjoyed the trip. Iam looking forward to another trip he talked about November fishing maybe we will see those big fat cats then thumbs up for this trip – via
