Did the full day snorkel trip, far out the whole experience was 10/10 brilliant. Unfortunately, it had rained and was cloudy on and off, but the crew made trip adjustments and took us to see some fantastic coral and so many fish!! Captain Jack, the 2 georgies and Karen (Sorry guys I’m bad with names if I’ve got them wrong) were the best crew, the great team work was so good to see and really made the atmosphere on the trip perfect.

Thanks so much to the crew that day, it really was the highlight of my holiday. – via google

The boat is super nice and the staff was great, but I would not recommend the half day Hill inlet and Whitehaven beach trip. Because the boat is so big, they have to ferry all the passengers by small boat back to the large boat which takes more than 30 minutes and this there is not as they describe, ample time for both the beach and inlet. They actually announced this at the onset and we tried to do both and it was super rushed and we had only 35 minutes at the beach. We were the first group onto the island and the first off. There were other companies that park right at the beach and so you would have more time. All the groups are also at the viewing platforms at the same time and you basically have to shove your way through people to see anything and getting pictures is difficult unless you don’t want to go to the beach in which case you could stay up there until everyone is gone and then have it to yourself

I have nothing bad to say about the booking, boat or staff, but I wouldn’t recommend because of the lack of time allowed. – via google

We did a great day out with Explore last week after the original sail and snorkel trip we were booked on got cancelled due to weather, they squeezed us onto other trips to ensure we got to see some of Whitehaven Beach and still got the chance to snorkel as well. The whole crew were fantastic, especially with my children and Aaron in particular helped my son to snorkel for the first time which he absolutely loved. – via google

My husband and I went on the sail and snorkel tour. This could have been a wonderful experience if a staff member was not so rude to us.

I’ll comment on the good things first. The tour has a nice schedule, packing snorkelling, the Whitehaven beach, and lookout all in one trip. The snorkel site was great with a lot of colourful coral reefs and fish. And the food, including morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, was amazing.

I would have given a five star review if it weren’t for the terrible snorkelling experience (because of the arrangements not the site itself). The snorkelling part felt really rushed. All passengers needed to follow the guide along a specific course, and we were rushed back to the boat as soon as we reached the destination. My husband and I were falling behind because we used our own small fins, which made it hard to swim fast. Instead of being helpful, we were constantly chased by staff members and asked to swim faster the whole time. On our way back to the boat, one staff member kept repeating the same sentence asking us to rush back to the boat (once every 30s), and even said to us “You can swim faster by moving your arms. You don’t have to hold hands“. For gods’ sake, my husband was holding my hand simply to help me swim faster. We were like sheep chased by a golden retriever. Not sure if they acted this way to everyone or because we are Chinese and they assumed we couldn’t understand their instructions and we were being slow on purpose. Finally, I got on a small boat to go back to the main one. My husband chose to swim back, but even when he arrived, a lot of people were chilling in the water and he had to wait to get on to the boat. So why the rush??? I’ve snorkelled a couple of times in Australia in GC, Cairns, Byron Bay etc and in other countries, and never been treated this way. I’m angry and disappointed about this particular part of the experience.

A piece of advice: get staff members to guard the starting and end points of the course, and then let people freely explore the areas in between. We paid to have fun and enjoy ourselves, not to be chased and rushed like a herd of sheep. – via google

We did a full day reef tour, we had a small group which they plan to do so it’s not crowded on the boat. The staff were amazing and really helpful with everything. All snorkelling equipment was included, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea was great. Boat was clean and comfortable. – via google

Been to Vobster Quay a number of times (for both training, instructing there and being instructed by their guys) and can’t fault the place. Along side basic diving they have gas & fancy-gas blending onsite at very good prices. Hot/cold food. Spares to be rented. Good prices on shiny stainless accessories I didn’t realise I needed. Changing room .. things (even with doors now!).

Half day snorkel was disappointing, seemed overbooked with not enough staff. Refused to let my 83yr old mum in the water – even though we rang & checked before booking. Got her all suited up in the tender at snorkel area – then refused entry to water, it was extremely disappointing & soured our whole experience. Captain was panicking about the number of people 60 to only 2 staff in the water. We were a group of 7 with 2 surf lifesavers in the group all to look after Mum on probably her last snorkel experience. The boat was late which meant we were left waiting on the wharf in extreme heat and our time in the water was cut short. The bay we were taken to was no better than snorkelling off Catseye Beach. Unfortunately a waste of money. – via google

Great clean, well appointed boat with air-conditioning. Super friendly and informative staff who seemed to go out of their way to ensure everyone had a good time. Good amount of time spent on the island and beach, got great photos and time for a nice swim. Felt really safe on the trip and valued as a customer, thanks a million. – via google

Our original tour had to be changed due to weather, so we got a “windy day” tour through the Whitsundays instead. Two snorkel spots and Whitehaven beach to cap it off. Amazing day, entire family loved it. Our 3 and 6 year olds had a blast. Crew were wonderful – helpful and friendly and helped the kids feel confident in the water.
