Four of us did a private charter for the swim with the sharks, a 3 hour experience. We had 3 crew headed by Hammed. They first took us to see if we could locate dolphins, and luckily we were surrounded by a massive pod, to the left, right, behind and in front.
Then we went to swim with the sharks. My husband does not like being out of his depth but had his life vest on and one member of the crew was assigned to look after him in the water. So whilst he held onto the ring the crew member moved him around. There were loads of nurse sharks and other fish.
We then went to swim with turtles. The turtles were not bothered by us and just carried on digging in the coral.
Finally we stopped off at another island, sat on the beach and then Stingrays came up over our feet. They’re soft to touch like a stress ball, apart from their tails which are very coarse.
The crew were amazing and very accommodating. Thoroughly recommend them. They are all so friendly.
On the daily snorkelling sessions you are normally accompanied by Abdi, who is an excellent free diver – he blows air rings in the water which grow in size as they drift up to the top. You may also have the pleasure of Nunu accompanying you, who is Ozen’s Marine Biologist, and simply a lovely person. – via
