Gary Gardner is a great instructor. We did the open water dive in Monterey this weekend. Unlike the one who gave us the swimming pool training class, Gary is super nice and patient. It really helped me a lot to get relaxed and finished all the test in the ocean. He is really a great instructor. Thank you for giving us such a great experience! I loved learning from Ocean Horizons Scuba. I was looking for a place to take scuba lessons so that I could scuba dive on a trip I had planned. I was able to take the 5-week Saturday course, which worked perfectly for my schedule. Paul, Jimmy, Scott & all the rest are great teachers, and I had an amazing time. I really loved that they place so much emphasis on safety during training, and that you repeat everything so that it becomes instinctive; when I eventually ended up in open water, I was so comfortable with my muscle-memory basics like clearing my mask, retrieving my regulator, etc that I could just relax and enjoy my dive!
I ended up going on one of the OHS trips after my original scuba trip, and I am so happy that I did. I had an incredible time, met some fun, hilarious, wonderful people, and had a great experience. I am planning on going on many more trips with Ocean Horizons Scuba, and can’t wait for the next one.
If you’re looking to get certified, Ocean Horizons Scuba is definitely the best people to learn from! – via

From the moment I met Paul and his instructors I knew I was in good hands. Their laid-back demeanor will erase any apprehension you may have about getting in the water. I personally excelled in his class but I noticed that anyone falling behind got extra attention and he made sure that they were caught up and comfortable with the day’s lessons. When the time came to apply his training in an open-water situation I felt perfectly comfortable in the water and one with my equipment and environment. I highly recommend Paul and his crew to help you become a confident and certified diver. – via
