You can buy better but you can’t pay more! Skip the VIP tour…we paid over $700 and got about 30 minutes of snorkeling in the cloudy water. They would point to manatees over there….none were up close and personal. At the conclusion, they were going to charge us over $40 for photos….I complained that wasn’t correct for the VIP tour. So they emailed us 90 photos….70 were from a couple of other tours….people we had never met. Our 20 were mostly green indistinguishable blurs.
Big disappointment to my granddaughters and waste of time and money. – via

If the tour is advertised as 3 hours, you should probably look for manatees for the full time. We found one sleeping manatee this morning and our guides called it a day after 20 minutes of swimming with him. There were a couple of other manatees swimming around the springs. It would have been nice to go catch up with them. We were on the water for less than an hour. As my 6-year-old said, “that’s it?”.
I understand there aren’t a lot of manatees around, but that means you should work harder to find them. We were disappointed. – via

We took the morning manatee tour in early February. Captain Kev was knowledgeable entertaining on the boat ride out to our spot. It was obvious from the start this was a company very concerned and protective of the environment. We were trained in passive observation by Lauren who was our guide. She did a great job with our group and it was clear the manatees have come to love her as two followed us back to the boat and kept playing around the outboard motor tugging on a rope intentionally delaying our departure. It was adorable. – via

Amazing experience – captain Kev was fun, friendly, and knowledgeable. Even saw dolphins on the way there! Lauren was amazing – I had some struggles once in the water with my gear and inexperience/asthma and she immediately noticed and helped me get properly sorted out, even lent me her arm and shoulder when I had some anxiety. The crew has an obvious love and devotion for the manatees, and it’s clear they are dedicated to a good experience for wildlife and people. Can’t recommend enough! – via
