Extremely disappointed!
Firstly contacted Cornwall Parachute Club as they are part of the British Skydiving club, and jumped in Kent before. Amazing, or so I thought.
Emailed them and got a reply from Chris Fowler. Came back to ask me to fill in forms, which I did and returned. All I got was “provisionally booked for 7th July”. No confirmation of set date or receipt of my documents, but gladly took the deposit out of my bank.
Secondly I had to phone them a week before to check it was going ahead (I booked at the start of June for the start of July 2023). I phoned the number on Chris’s email but it doesn’t exist. So I contacted Ben on the number on the website. He answered after tne second attempt at calling as he was out at a restuarant at midday, midweek, no work then? Fair enough he did call me back and confirm the date but also commented “we’re much more relaxed here in Cornwall”. It’s a business so should be professional either way.
So, 6th July, 9:30pm the night before my jump. A random number messages me about the weather and that they’ve had to cancel all jumps for 7th. I was offered to rebook. I asked for a refund as I live in Kent and my mum is currently terminally ill so can’t guarantee rebooking.
Again: “You have 2 years to rebook it and it says in T&C’s it’s non-refundable”. I think you will find you are wrong as your email signature says ‘non-refundable’. The T&C’s I signed say ‘not normally refundable’. There is a difference. Again I explained my situation in more detail and I got a reply if, “I’ll speak with my boss tomorrow and let you know”. Never told me who they were. Never got a reply. I messaged Ben and still no reply 1 week later.
Unprofessional and never booking with you again.
Thanks for being empathic to my situation seeing as you also told me via text, which I still have, that you also lost both parents to the same illness as my mum in the last year.
It’s a £50 deposit. You disgust me.
I advise people to keep well away from these cowboys who are happy to take your money but not give it back. – via
