We cane here originally when my wife and i got our fins mask and snorkles 14 years ago. We still have them, and this year we are introducing our daughter to scuba! As a result, she also needed gear, which was reasonably priced. The person at the store recommended against getting her fins so long before her open water checkout, as she is still young and would likely outgrow them within 6 months. We will return shortly before her open water checkout to get her fins. In the meantime she will use her moms fins to get prepped. We really appreciated the honest and assistance we recieved! – via

I can’t say enough good things about this dive shop. I did my open water certification here with 0 prior experience (did the academic portion and confined water portions in February with Pongpan, and the Open Water checkout dives first weekend of August in Lake Phoenix Virginia with Claudine and Pablo). Starting with the shop owners (Bruce and Rob), super friendly and helpful. Great guys to interact with. They really know their stuff and they put me at ease right away. They worked with me to get a refresher class before the dive checkouts to ensure i did not forget my basics which was super helpful. All the Dive Masters I worked with from Pongpan, to Claudine and Pablo were fantastic, very knowledgeable and very helpful. They all made sure each one of us in the team got the attention they needed to master the skills. I never felt rushed and they never made me feel bad about asking basic questions or having them repeat the instructions. I will definitely take more training with this shop and certainly plan trips with them in the future. My experience was 10/10 from my first time when I stopped by the shop, all the way to actually getting my certification. Price wise I think they are very reasonable from course fees to equipment (I bought: snorkel, mask, fin, and booties here and i got a discount since I was taking courses here) and the shop is very clean and organized. I highly recommend this place. – via

Me and a friend got our OWD cert training here and it was a mixed experience. For one, the pricing is NOT transparent. It’s not made clear that the check out dives are extra until the end of the lessons. Another issue was when I went to buy my gear, the owner, Bruce, was incredibly condescending and could not stop making comments and jokes about my weight.
I’m 6′ 3″, and 275 pounds, I am by no means a skinny person, but this was the first time in my life some one has tried to make me feel bad about myself. They laughed at me when they estimated I needed 28 lbs for my freshwater weights, but by the end of the lessons I was down to 16 lbs for weights, and this process of finding the correct weight after their erroneous first estimation made the lessons a bit more difficult.
But, the lessons themselves were incredible. Pablo and Chris made sure to take time and make sure everyone was comfortable with each exercise in the water, the classroom portions didn’t feel rushed, and I really felt prepared for real ocean dives (I even got many compliments during my checkout dives for my neutral buoyancy)
Overall I would recommend them for instruction, but buy your equipment elsewhere to avoid the rude front of house staff. – via

If you are interested in anything to do either scuba lessons, equipment, or trips you have to come and talk to these people.
the two which I met Anthony and Rob will answer all of your questions while you feel like you have know them as friends for many years.
The shop is very organized and they have everything you need in the store.
You know they know what they are doing and knowledgeable about the items they sell when they don’t even have to look anything up for the item number.
When they talk to you they will explain the difference is between products (the pros and cons) of any of the products they sell – via

Had a seamless and professional experience here for dive gear servicing. Bruce asked me when I needed my gear back and had it back to me in a timely manner consistent with the exceptions he set. This shop services most of the major brands and has a decent selection of recreational dive gear. The fin selection seemed limited to mostly flutter kick style fins, but the fins on display seemed consistent with the recreational customer base. The shop has a great selection of everything a diver needs to go from open water up to rescue diver. The whiteboard displays a nice availability of dive classes and trips to some interesting places.
The shop seems a bit understaffed which was a bit stressful. I felt rushed when testing my equipment in front of the register with four customers behind me and more on the phone. It would have been nice to have been set aside from the retail customers to be able to take my time to check my gear.
Honoring of the Aqualung parts warranty was unclear. My wife’s regulator part kit wasn’t covered under warranty but mine was. I walked away confused and Bruce was unable to explain the warranty coverage. I’m sure I’ll figure it out for a future successful maintenance plan. Would recommend going at a non-busy time if you’re a serious diver that needs to take their time with gear checks and have a more in depth understanding of their dive gear maintenance. – via
