I gifted my husband the Open Water Certification class for Christmas, choosing Scuba Unlimited for his shop. Once he was ready to do the pool training, we talked with the staff about my prior tries to certify. They talked through the issues & concerns that I had and offered to conduct a Discover Scuba Class with me, one on one, to see if I could be comfortable. With the expert, patient guidance of Pete, Craig & others, I was able to pass all my pool work. We wanted to conduct our open water check-out dives in the FL Keys and they were able to connect us with Islamorada Dive Center. I’m now excited to say I’m Open Water Certified. Without the help of the staff here I wouldn’t be able to say that. So thank you all for opening up this wonderful new world to me! – via

My husband and I took a Basic Open Dive certification class here. The staff and instructor (Mo) were very friendly and very knowledgeable. We were guided through buying our equipment here and we now feel every comfortable diving. We cannot wait to come back for rentals, dive trips, and more classes! – via

This place has a good variety of items for snorkeling and scuba diving. Rachel was a great help. She was patient and informative. This is the first of many places that I have been to where they sized me up for a dive suit and I was able to try one on since we all have a different body size. For a bigger man I was so excited to finally find the right size. I went in looking for booties for my fins. But after Rachel checked my foot in my fins I found out that I only needed water socks. My scuba suit was ordered today with half the payment down. That is awesome. I will pick the suit up when it is delivered so I will have a professional make sure that everything is the way that it should be. I am looking forward to taking the classes that they offer. Driving from Dayton to Cincinnati is worth the drive to learn from patient friendly people. Thank you Rachel and staff for all of your help, time, patients and sharing your knowledge. Your love for the water transferred to my excitement for getting in the water even more!!!!! – via

My instructor for Open Water was Scottie Fahey, an amazing person. The atmosphere in and out of the pool and certification sessions is a keepsake experience that is packed full of useful and unique knowledge. I signed up for Advanced Open Water the day after I was certified and can’t wait to dive with these folks again next Spring. I highly recommend SCA to everyone, local or not. I promise that you will not regret it, even if you are unsure if diving is for you. They make you comfortable and help you through your pain points as needed.

Visited and purchased gear here before, and have always found the shop very well kept, with a great selection, reasonable prices, and a staff that was friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful. I’d highly recommend them if you have a need for any kind of dive equipment.
I hadn’t yet had the chance to do any training or trips with them until this past March, but couldn’t resist any longer when I saw the level of detail that went into a Philippines trip they recently offered.
Just as the trip was about begin, however, covid began its rise out in that region of the world. Rachel and Rich from the shop had everything covered though, and did a fantastic job of keeping everyone in the loop as the news developed. Everything was all so extremely well coordinated that even some last minute changes in travel plans for some of us to avoid hot spots didn’t knock anything off track.
I was the most thoroughly impressed with the effort Rachel, the manager of the shop, put in to make sure everyone on the trip was well taken care of… From jumping headfirst into equipment issues and quickly fixing them on the spot to checking in with everyone several times every day – whether it was the daily dive schedule, special add-on dives, eating, or traveling to or from anywhere, she was on top of it. I still don’t know where she found the energy to do everything she did, the will to make the sacrifices she made along the way, or the mental acuity to keep track of everyone and juggle as many details as she did to make the trip such a success.
It ended up being one of the best dive trips I’ve ever been a part of… Everyone on the trip had traveled with them before and now I know why… I had only had ever met Rachel and Rich before from the shop, but by the end of the trip it felt like I knew everyone (and it was no small group) – Rachel and Rich made sure of it. The entire group was warm, friendly, and welcoming – which spoke volumes to me about how this place treats their customers and keeps them coming back for more. These folks don’t just know diving, but how to do dive travel just right too, which is a challenge I’ve seen many shops fall short on in my years of diving.
I’ll certainly be looking forward to doing more diving with these folks when some semblance of normalcy returns with the covid crisis. – via
