Absolutely Shocked and disappointed and left traumatised aft…
Absolutely Shocked and disappointed and left traumatised after this trip! I spent 3 HOURS in a taxi with my friends Susan, Margret and Mary to be welcomed by a staff member shouting profanities at me. After this horrible first impression I thought the rooms would be nice so we asked another staff member to show us to our rooms and when I say I thought we were in mount joy prison I mean I thought our ‘room’ was a CELL. I asked the staff member ‘Is this a joke’ and they said ‘No granny stop complaining’. I have never been age shamed in my life. I’m so ashamed! After this we looked around our room and I was SHOCKED to see BUGS in the chest of drawers! I was shocked by the rudeness off the staff. We were then told that we will be embarking on our first activity which was a walk up to the woodlands for ‘archery’. I asked why would we be doing this now as it was lashing rain at this point. I was told by the staff member to ‘get over it and stop complaining’. I felt SO disrespected and I shall NOT be talked to like that! The intercom then said to get boots and we are leaving. But me and my friends did NOT bring boots because we trusted that Carlingford would have them for us. Oh was I wrong-. There was NO budget as my friend Susan mentioned we had to WALK in the RAIN with NO mode of transport. I went to my room after and tried to have a shower but the pressure was so strong it hurt my hand when I was testing it and I now have a BRUISE! It was at 11pm I was reading my gossip magazine alone when my girlies came in to go to bed but we were talking until 1am then a man kicked down our door asking for our phones??? I am NOT 10 years old- so we refused and he cussed us out and left. We were all shaken up by this event so we went to sleep to get so well needed rest. We were awoken by ‘Rick Astley’ at 6am we were very tired. I called our taxi at 9am as we could not stay any longer than this. This experience has left me sick to my stomach #CarlingfordHateClub #NotOkay #NotHappy – via
