Nice zookeepers and facilities, however, the price is way too high for what they offer. Our daughter wasn’t old enough for the obstacle climbing, so the animals were the only attraction. There aren’t many animals and the dome is quite small and very hot. We would much rather spend our money at Hartley’s. – via

We really enjoyed our day trip to ZOOM. Our primary reason for going was to try out the ropes courses and we weren’t disappointed. The low ropes is perfect for children (or nervous beginners of any age) and the high ropes is a nice step up – not too challenging. Perfect for the abilities of my 9 & 11 yo.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Daughter number 1 overheated on the high ropes and they were wonderful about getting her down and cooling her off. She was able to get back up and complete the course after a rest.
Daughter number 2 was worried by the zipline and they were so good at coaching her to do it.
It was also great that you could walk along underneath/beside the ropes courses. That meant I could watch the kids without needing to be on there with them and vice versa.
The wildlife aspect of the dome is great for younger children. Most zoos/animal parks tend to be sprawling and can be challenging to navigate if you are mobility impaired or with youngsters. This is very compact with a small but good selection of animals.
We loved the opportunity to have a picture with Lulu the koala. We were booked in for a timeslot but Lulu was cranky by the time it was our turn and I thought it was excellent that the staff took her away to rest and we were able to come back for the next session when she was ready.
Constructive criticism but didn’t impact our overall experience:
*The ticket/food/gifts area could use some love! We ended up leaving to get food and then came back in.
*I found the booking system really confusing.
A word of advice:
*It wasn’t a super hot day when we were there but the dome is quite hot, especially when on the ropes courses. Wear cool clothing and cool yourself down with water. – via
